I still don't get it.
Why only produce 100 of these?
Knowing he could probably sell 1000 or so?
Why not make more people happy?
Go through the rest of his posters, and you'll see why. Printing just to print makes no sense. Then, the next one, it heightens the demand. 100 - he'll sell out today. Print 1,000, or to order or whatever:
a) It becomes less desirable
b) Folks can wait and not decide today
c) He could be stuck with inventory that costs $ to produce and $ to store
Sure, this one he could sell a few hundred (maybe, but again - if you don't limit it, the item becomes less desirable), but what about the 1 he miscalculates on?
Limited supply increases demand. (and not to mention signing and numbering 300 +).
Sorry. The world doesn't work the way you tell it to.

BTW .. just got this in email re: the poster design
I was contacted by the curators of Five Horizons The First International
Pearl Jam Photo Exhibition and asked if I would design a poster for the
exhibit. Here's some more info on the exhibit taking place in Rome,
Italy from June 13th - July 30th:
FIVE HORIZONS is the first retrospective exhibition on Pearl Jam ever made in
Europe, featuring the history and evolution of the band from their genesis until
today. Pearl Jam have a huge and faithful fanbase in Italy, where they are warmly
appreciated by many people. The exhibition is intended not only as a form of
historical / visual testimony to the band, but also as a tribute to Pearl Jam and all
the fans who follow them loyally and would be delighted to see the band’s pictures
on display in our country.
The exhibition will feature a series of 60 images, in both color and black and white,
taken by renowned photographers who have narrated the band’s private moments
as well as their unforgettable live performances from the beginning of the band’s
career to date. From pictures of the early 90s to the very recent portraits, we trace
the metamorphosis of those who helped create the aesthetics of grunge and beyond.
Photographers: Danny Clinch, Lance Mercer, Alessio Pizzicannela, Spike Mafford,
Robert MacKenzie, Steve Gullick, Matt Anker, Paul Natkin
Being that the exhibit encompasses photos from throughout Pearl Jam's
entire career, I wanted to include imagery that referenced each album
the band has put out to date.
Ten - the basketball
Vs. - the goat
Vitalogy - the book
No Code - the polaroids
Yield - the sign
Binaural - the binaural head microphone
Riot Act - the queen chess piece
Self Titled - the avocado
Backspacer - the typewriter
For the gallery opening in Italy, they sold offset printed copies of the
poster. My copies are a 6 color screen print printed by DL Screenprinting
and will only ever be available via my site.
I just got to my email now and scooped one up no problem. 100 total? Can't believe these aren't sold out yet
It's pretty much cause some folks just hoard the print in cart and let it rid for 3 hours, not processing the payment. Wish it was a 5-10 minute max in cart to process order.
I scored one right when the original email came out...Would I have preferred it to be out of an edition of 100? Yeah. Am I going to ask for a refund because it was from an edition of 160? Hell no. Here is the email from Brad, such a cool dude to run things the way he does.
PS Hey Brad, thanks for reading the board
Hi everyone
Whenever I have a sale, I usually try and watch the message boards at
the same time.. it helps me track the sale live and see if there are any
problems people are experiencing with the site.
And on one of those I caught something that made me realize I made an
error in my email announcing the sale.
I screwed up and didn't alter the edition size for the 5 Horizons poster
in my email template. The template always has the edition size
as 100... and I didn't change that. And for no real reason other then
being dense and not paying attention.
The edition is out of 160, not 100.
If anyone feels like that's not what they were purchasing and would like
a refund, email me and I'll get that processed for you. Thanks.
