Yeah, this was pretty amazing. I texted a friend about why they played this and he thought I wasn't being serious until I explained it a little further. Just so heartwarming that they'd do this, and I'm glad you got your song and am so sorry for your loss.

Wow. I'm speechless still. You guys on here made it happen. If nobody would have bumped this thread multiple times, the band wouldn't have seen it. So I thank you as much as I thank PJ

I was numb the whole time. No emotion, no singing along. My buddy grabbed me and hugged me but I stayed stone-faced. By the very end I had tears. I just can't believe they did it for me and told my wife's story. It will always be accessible as I know someone recorded it..forever.

My phone blew up to the point the battery died. Just got back to hotel now, which is why it took so long to reply.

What a night. Greatest band of all time and I and my dear late wife are proof why.

    Wow.

Well personally I know that I'll always think of your story when i hear that song, especially when listening to this boot, and was very touched by the video tribute to her on youtube and hope to keep the lesson in my heart to try and be as brave as she was and smile in the face of whatever adversity comes my way. We're all united in how this band has touched our lives (albeit each in our own ways) and now many of us are also united in how Sarah's story has touched us as well. I don't know what else to say except that I'm pulling for you in a situation that I can't even imagine.

Please, somebody get this on YouTube. Listening on earthcam was great, but I couldnt hear the dedication.

I was at home with thousands of others listening on the earth cam and I nearly lost it when the first few chords were played. I think what struck me most is when they played it. I think they knew it was going to be unpredictable last night so they played it early. I just got the impression that no matter what...even if for some reason they couldn't come back on stage the rest of the night, they were going to get this in for sure. Simply awesome.

I agree with this. I would also add that they put this before All the Way with Ernie Banks. So if the theory is true, Ed put a fan's wishes before his own dream. Very cool.

I just found this thread after reading the setlist and dedication on GTF forum.

I'm so sorry for your loss, Hoosiers, yet so happy that the band not only heard your plea but played your wife's song and dedicated it to her. It's all so heartfelt, I can't help but tear up. Take care, and may Sarah rest in peace.

Good call. I even said to my wife that I was surprised they played it so early in the show, but this makes perfect sense. That makes it even more awesome.

I admit that after reading this post I was really hoping they would play this song for your wife. When Ed started talking about your story I told my wife about it and she immediately began to tear up. It's the moments like this that make this band so special to me. Again, sorry for your loss but hopefully the boys playing Come Back helped you in some small way.
