as i think these are very very different. The Santa Barbara that has been talked about already appears to be an in demand print because firstly its Emek and there were not many made, but its sure as hell not one of the finer looking prints imo. In fact I prefer the one they used at the show instead and that can be bought very easily for $50

The Chicago 1994 bulls logo print I have never seen before anywhere but on five horizons, never saw it on the bay, expresso beans none of the sites

    post_chicago94.gif

the official poster is the Ames Roadkill poster, so this may be a bootleg print...not sure

I would imagine that its mostly the older the poster the more rare it is?

The Yield tours had very small runs? 250-500 for most shows? I bought the Missoula one outside of grizzy stadium (and still have it to this day). I recently acquired the Seattle one, but it wasn't cheap. There's a huge premium on posters from the 90s. Vancouver '98 is now my holy grail, because its the only poster from shows i've been too, that offered posters, that I don't have. I could have had one, but posters weren't a big deal back then. I walked past a merch booth, and thought, thats a really small posters (its about the size of a small banner) and bought the soccer jersey instead (which doesn't really fit that well, and hasn't been worn in years).

When did PJ start making official posters for shows? I've seen a few for the '96 tour, but the '98 tour there seemed to be the first that had them for every show. They really started to take off on the 00 tour (even though they didn't have them for all shows).

I noticed at the Seattle '09 shows that they had boatloads of posters and never seemed to run out. I'm guessing as the years have gone one, they've continued to increase the print sizes? So those first few tours will probably be the most rare, because there were smaller runs due to less popularity.

I don't have the original (it was my second PJ show and I didn't get the whole poster thing yet) but I DO have a replica/reprint and a homemade TShirt of it..what a show!!!!

I agree.. I went to the show and have the poster but unfortunately I outgrew the shirt and threw it away. :nono:

My best is the Sydney 1998 crocodile one. My first show. The only poster I don't have is a missing link one, EV Canberra 2011, or which one was never sold (but I imagine one was designed and not approved). I have seen that Detroit EV one, similar to that story I imagine.
PJ - Sydney 1998; Sydney 2003; Sydney, Melbourne, Newcastle 2006; Melbourne, Sydney 2009; Gold Coast, Melbourne, Sydney 2014.
EV - Canberra, Newcastle, Sydney 2011; Sydney 2014.

any NBA fans around here? this question pops up alot here and i always thought an interesting way to "answer" this question would be similar to bill simmons annual article about nba players and trade value. he compiles a list of the top 50 nba players and ranks them based on salary, age, upside, intangibles, etc. so say he ranks kyrie irving at 13. you wouldn't trade kyrie for any player listed at 14-50, but any player ranked lowered than kyrie, a sit down discussion for a potential trade would definitely occur. it'd be fun and interesting to see a similar list of pearl jam posters. simmons is a PJ fan, maybe someone could ask him to?

Many here mention that the emek Charlotte or Chicago 2000 are the holy grails. But say you own the Chicago 2000 print. Is there any print out there that you would trade your Chicago 2000 for? Or at least make u think about trading it? If someone offered you emek Charlotte, would you take it? Or if you had emek Charlotte and someone offered you Chicago 2000, would you pull the trigger?

I have cleveland 98 framed (2nd show I've ever been to) - a lot of sentimental value. But if someone offered me emek Santa Barbara for a straight up trade, I'd probably make the trade.

I think it is the eye of the beholder...

I wanted this so bad. I never had a chance. And I was so blessed someone just mailed it to me.

    PearlJamPosters008.jpg

It's not the same as the image. I need to frame mine.

I have posters I could give no thoughts about. This one made me crazy.

My first poster was small. It was some band members in a race car. I can't find the image.
I remember who stole/took it from my house or off my wall when I wasn't home. He should be very nervous If I see him ever again.

That is straight and plain Wrong! Karma... hopefully.

For me personally...my holy grail poster is my 98 Pittsburgh poster. It was my first PJ show and probably means more to me than others.

    Same here.

The very, very sad part of my story is that I HAD this poster. My dad took me to my first PJ show when I was 15, and he bought me both the Yield North American poster and the show poster. Still have the N.A. poster, BUT THE SHOW POSTER is MIA. I was sure that it was at my parents, and while my husband and I were living in an apartment, I left a lot of my belongings at my parents. This past summer I went through EVERYTHING and could not find it anywhere. I am still holding out hope that there is a place that I did not search...

It is in no way in good condition...it has pinholes and is probably bent at the edges as I had no idea when I was a teen how much it would mean to me now. Even so, I will be the happiest girl if I ever find it. If not, it seems I will have to shell out a pretty penny to replace it.

Me too, but I think the grail is what you make it. Most people's grail is that first show. 98 Pittsburgh was mine, and I don't even remember seeing the poster in the merc tents at star lake. Loved my soccer jersey though.

Most importantly, good luck to everyone searching for whatever their grail is!

I had my first house repainted before I sold it. I was away for a few months.

I come back to see how things are going. I find my Deftones poster taped to the tile as a drop cloth.

The painters had been walking back and forth spilling paint on it for months. I don't want to say about the others that were killed/destroyed.

    WTF?!

respect anything? Recycled newspaper is free. I saved 4 out of 20 posters. I have never been that mad at a stupid issue. Yes it is paper. No, it's not scrap paper.

What went through that mind? They could have called me? The posters were in tubes.

To me, I thought it would make people think, "hey!, this is not a drop cloth..."

To them it was paper they could tape to the floor, so the carpet wasn't ruined. :fp:
    :problem:

I have posters... too many and most ARE not rare. I need a picture of what you want. Then I am reminded if I do or do not have it. I have my Poster! (thanks Steve) The others will stay in tubes until they find homes or some one needs it.

I really like Kozik. I got to see his store in San Fran. I have a bunch of his little smoking toys.

But it's not my style. the one by Maxx is the type that talks to me. I guess posters whisper ...

"Hey you!.... buy me already... Yes you... I'd be so pretty on your wall.. Do IT!!!"

That is weird I have most of the action figures that most of the PJ poster artists create.. I never realized.

    I guess I like art. :o

Apart from the Harper tree print, EMek has never really wowed me, like Kozik i think its just not for me. I admire his ability and his insane detail in his prints, the man is clearly one of the very best but i dont have much love for his stuff as finished pieces.
