So i did listen all the way through and without A/B comparison after having listened to the 33 three times in the last week.
The 45 in one word:crisp
there is a difference and everything is a bit more defined. If it was a TV comparison the resolution is better. Immediately I thought “so what”, “all blues”, “flamenco sketches” sounded measurably better. “Freddie Freeloader” slightly, and “blue in green” I didn’t notice anything immediately.
then I did an A/B on “so what” (the intro up until miles starts in and a few bars into that) I can’t do a back to back in large chunks as I can’t keep it straight. As I’m doing it on one turntable.
anyway the midrange in particular at the beginning of “so what” is better defined/more separated/more clear as all the instruments start coming in you can really hear it as it builds before miles starts playing. For sure. The low end may be a bit more defined too with the bass. The high end seemed the same or not enough different that I immediately noticed.
Yes it’s better no question. 150 bucks better, maybe but maybe not. If someone doesn’t already have the 33, get the 45 for sure.
That being said, the pressing quality is the best UHQR I’ve had. They have gotten better in order 3,4,5 then this. It’s flatter, initially quieter, with no stray clicks or pops either. All my others had one or more issues out of the box which I was able to mostly correct. It’s clear though it’s my best pressed UHQR so that could be a factor as well
im really curious what others will say as none of the reviews have come in yet as far as I know

You couldn't just say "it sucks", could you?
Lol
the 33 is fabulous so it’s not like the comparison copy was crap either.
TBH it’s the stuff you wouldn’t notice if the 45 version didn’t exist. Because it does, you can tell

Still haven't opened my white one. Not sure why I paid more for something that doesn't come with art.
How is the audio quality?
Well, I cleaned it and still got a few clicks, and it's slightly warped.
Other than that, I suppose it's a great Christopher Cross album.
I still haven't listened to it.
I haven't either, but I need to since I'm going to see the Earthlings again in Ohana. I saw them last year, but that was before the record so while it had some from here, it was a lot of Flag Day stuff.
I did learn that the white cover (blank) was printed at RTI rather than GZ. So from that perspective, paying for the blank one was worth it since RTI is good and GZ blows. But it's only worth it if I listen... which I need to do...

Can you tell the difference vs the 33?
