That's what I mean.. compared to the reissue.

I think that Vitalogy reissue sounds PFG, but my comparo is the OG cassettes and CDs.

The only one of the LP reissues that I don't care for the overall sound of is Riot Act, but my comparo is the CD and the live versions of the songs.  To me, it sounds compressed and just not loud enough.

Riot Act is really teh only reissue I like, ironically enough.  But I didn't have an original either.  I agree it's a little compressed but I don't notice a loudness issue.  Avocado is completely brickwalled.

What a wonderful record.  The cover is a perfect metaphor.  It's like a carnival of music. And it was such a refreshing change from the darkness coming from Seattle.  Their style, musical talent and unique instrument made it impossible for the record companies to spin up a bunch of copies of them.

I love it, this is a true gem of an album start to finish. Someday I hope to have "Busted Stuff" and "Before These Crowded Streets" as well...

Yeah I absolutely l love BS (or Lillywhite sessions to be more accurate). It's so dark,  brooding,  like crowded streets.  I don't know why they haven't been released yet.

The Binaural and Riot Act REs are good IMO. Completely agree with you on the Avocado RE.
