Can we choose Astoria? Because Astoria beat Dublin by a country mile, and that's saying something because Dublin was flippin great... in fact Astoria is hands down the best gig I've been to in my life.

That's what I thought too... until I went to see them in Milano. Frankly, it was mind-blowing! It blew the Astoria out of the water, regardless of being in a much bigger club! The audience was unreal and the band fed off of it. Ed was also tearing up...

Can't wait for the DVD!!! :D

    Pistoia

The band was FLAWLESS!! There was only 9,000 in attendence but they sound fuckin great...the guitar tones are just perfect...Ed's voice is the best I've heard it since 98...

Funny you say that, because that's what I thought while I was there... flawless performance indeed. My thought was they were trying to get the best versions of the songs because of the DVD (they have repeated some songs (e.g. 1/2 Full, Last Exit, etc.))

of the whole tour: either Dublin or Marseille.

out of the shows i went to: Pistoia or Bern. maybe leaning towards the latter.
I was only able to make Bern, and that was FANTASTIC!!!Havnt heard any boots yet still trying to decide which ones! also will take ages to download on my dial up!!!But definately the shows we attended are the ones we will love !PJ always give so much and feed off the crowd however big or small! I am LOOKING FORWARD so much to the next time I can get to see them they are like a drug I can Never ever get enough of!
    The waiting drove me mad!!!

I'm completely addicted to the Dublin boot - the crowd sound amazing. It's hard to imagine any other boot could match it unless you were there :o
    The Astoria??? Orgazmic!
    Verona??? it's all surmountable
Dublin 23.08.06 "The beauty of Ireland, right there!"
    Wembley? We all believe!
Copenhagen?? your light made us stars
    Chicago 07? And love

I chose Arnhem, Milan and Prague as the best three I went to, but Dublin, Antwerp and Zagreb are not really 'less'. Bern and Bologna were also great, Verona was okay but not compared to 2000. Torino was good. Pistoia and Vienna were more or less spoilt for me by other people so I can not really tell because I was too 'busy'. And I did not like Berlin, but I'm a minority there :).

    1st: Marseille and Zagreb
    2nd: Lisbon 2
3rd: Prague, Vienna, Torino, Bologna and Berlin

Decision is made rather on what it felt like being there instead of the setlists (well....except for the first ones....there everything was perfect....songs...band....fans....the whole package)
Berlin for instance wasn't a special setlist but was so much fun where I was.

Marseille (my favourite setlist), but then they were all so great and not many people are mentioning Reading, which I also thought was a fantastic gig/evening

've been only to Zagreb but it had to be the best!
I can't imagine it being any better.
And I see that some of the people that have attended more than one show vote for Zagreb too, so...
    F*** still can't believe it. :)
The worst enemies of music? Money and Mathematics. Combined with music, they both do the exact opposite of what they're supposed to do. Money makes music cheap, mathematics makes it stupid and predictable.

Maybe this question should be answered from those who attended the most of the appearances of the band. I think that telling you that Athens gig was the best sounds selfish. Anyway, the feeling that gets every one of us would be exactly the same even if they played in the bottom of the sea!!!!

i went to a few of the little suckers.... and to my mind they were all amazing but if i had to put my balls on the line and pick one... i would say ZAGREB.

Yeah, well I didn't want to admit how personally hurt I was by the omission but oh well.

the ones that stick out for me:
Reading, both Lisbon (with a personal pref. for Lisbon 1 that I enjoyed more for some reason), Milano, Praha, Zagreb.
Dublin, Bologna and Torino also v.good.

it's how much I enjoyed the show, the setlist, how much (or less) hussle I got there, the time around the concert too...all VERY subjective (I know full well that whilst Milano is in my top, Black-Red-Yellow would put it as her worst).

All in all, I probably would put Lisbon and Zagreb as my favourites (which doesn't mean the best in absolute, just the best for me.)

I was in Marseille for the show and if I compare the set list with the others there is no doubt : it's was one of the best !

But, it's difficult to have a good view just on one live. PJ makes 23 concerts in Europe, a person have been at least at 3 can say something more real.

It really was... Those who say the crowd were awful obviously weren't in form themselves... or were standing in the toilet all night. The crowd where I was standing were brilliant... I'd Barry going mental to my left, an American girl jumping like a flea to my right, two Dutch guys and the two Canadian girls in front of me also going crazy... all singing to the top of our voices... no complacency in the crowd from where I was... I think some people allowed the rain to ruin it for them. For me, it simply made it better... as soon as it started raining I'd a big grin on my face and thought 'YESSSSSSSSS' but others were just moaning, so I think it's all about your own attitude. If you're standing there thinking 'fuck, I'm getting so wet', you're not gonna enjoy it. And the colourful ponchos and the umbrellas were beautiful and it was an amazing feeling imagining all that may have went on in the Arena over the years and then to be standing there watching the greatest band in the world perform - how the world changes :)

    Anyway, rant over :o

The Verona crowd around me was great too (first time I met Sid from Croatia, who was going crazy righ behind me :)), but as a whole there was not as much singing as in Milano, for instance. I've only seen one girl who did not like it in Verona: the one next to me. She was obviously just there for her boyfriend and she suffered the whole concert, rain or not. I tried to make her smile but it was hard; she smiled once, when it was almost over.
I liked the concert a lot but Verona 2000 had more magic for me.

I've been to 13 this tour but then you get the 'problem' people think you're too negative about 'their' concert, and ofcourse you get tired from all traveling. So it's still something very personal: 1 concert or 23, or something inbetween.

The silly cow :o Waste of a ticket. It just depends on everyones frame of mind... for me the rain just made it more magical and the thunder beforehand. But if I wasn't feeling the best it probably would get me down... although I've been to a few outdoor concerts where it's pissed down (including The Who this year) and it just makes me have less inhibitions or something.
