when they stop catergorizing marijuana in the same exact grouping-pool as pcp, cocaine & heroin then maybe i'll believe that government & hospitals & those in charge are not a bunch of idiots. until then i have almost zero respect for their knowledge about marijuana as well as how they desire to control our every moving muscle because they are a scam, a sham & a cluster fuck of liers, cheats & thieves & their propaganda is overwhelming & believed by many in the masses
eating peyote buttons every couple weeks or every couple of months is probably extremely good for us as a enlightening tool into the spirit world, giving us visions & the cleansing of our souls, bodies & minds. this is what marijuana does.
marijuana use is a church in & of itself. it is an inner sanctuary being fed into us through consuming the plant by mouth or fire. people have got to learn to grow up & blend more naturally with the raw earth. im no doctor but i'd bet marijuana consumption is healthier than taking advil, asprin or tylenol.
i follow the ancient line the natives held fast too. use the earth living next to & with her, a give & take from all parties, dust to dust typea deal. i'd never in 47 trillion years spray down my yard with weed & insect killer & other chemicals from ortho company but i'd share a spliff with my neighbor.
they'd throw us in jail for sharing a fucking plant grown in mother soil... that's pretty fucking nice of those idiots to pester innocent folks minding to their own affairs.
Yeah, I'd tend to agree with you, chadwick (though I've never tried peyote, shrooms, acid, etc). Of course some people can't handle some stuff so I'd not condone their partaking (common sense and the like)...but the mentality of making it illegal for all because of the few, or demonizing its effects because of the few...makes no sense to me, much like the idiocy of over-the-top-PC-ness.
I know you know about pain and the lengths we go to relieve it. My back was screaming this weekend, and while a bit of the pill helped, I'll tell ya there's nothing like a few long tokes to bring about the much-needed "ahhhhh".
I'm considering offering it to my mom once again to help what she's been dealing with, pain-wise.

wish it was decriminalized nationwide & whatnot
check it...
the doctor(s) got me addicted to opiates & methadone which i truly need. so i take those pharmaceuticals for awhile. then... smash, boom, bang... whamo
fucked & in a heartbeat... this hospital & many in the surrounding area are cracking whips & taking away our pain killers. im screwed & been coming off of percocets & methadone the last two months. it sucks balls. one month ago was hell. i truly need some strong meds. im not the typical case nor the typical guy. i eat methadone, percocets & have in the past smoked before swimming a mile or two at a time. i function very well, always have. it takes a lot to get me settled down. this includes alcohol which i haven't touched in 3 years.
i can't use marijuana because then i can't get my pills. well now they're taking everyone's pills away anyway. however, one hospital many miles away may help me. problem is my doctor won't refer me because he's already refered me to two other pain clinics i refuse to use because they do nothing for me but burn the nerves in my knees & do not give out opiates. i want the nerves in my knees, i don't want them burnt.
i'm thinking of going down to this one hospital i've never stepped foot in & getting my primary doctor there just to keep getting my pain meds. frickin what the frig?
assholes are actually delaying my progress. i showed them i would quit marijuana & i did & they are now fucking me over & many, many others as well now can't get pain relievers. unreal
Found out my 16 year old sister tried pot for the 1st time recently. I'm older then her and am expecting my 1st child shortly, but not sure how to handle this. I told her to keep her priorities in order and that we would talk more later, but its later now and I don't know what to say. Anybody have siblings/children in a similar situation have any advice on how to respond?
By example which you probably already have.
I would advise every young person not to start smoking pot, drinking, doing other
recreational drugs. Too many can't handle it and too many can not even see they can't.
They don't need it but once a habit it's hard to break.
Most of the time the emergency room visits that have to do with pot are from ingestion. The people who come and are high from smoking it are usually young teenagers or first time users.
Are they sometimes under the influence of other things? Absolutely. And sometimes they are not.
Usually it is just diagnosed as a panic attack or severe anxiety, but some people describe out of body experience. Schizophrenic episodes are uncommon but do happen.
As to the potency debate. I suppose I see where you are coming from. But not really. When i started smoking most weed was low level pot. No matter how much I smoked I would just get tired.
As years have gone by, good pot has become available throughout. Different methods of smoking that produce quicker more intense high have spread.
I live in WA state. I am absolutely happy that pot was legalized. I was always bummed out that medical marijuana won the race because it makes a mockery of medicine.
I, however, am not blind to the fact that most people I know who buy their own pot are addicts. Plain and simple. Is it as bad as alcohol? No way. It's kind of like the people who speed out on diet pills. They manage to get through life alright. Just aren't present all that much.

So they ate it? Or ingested it via smoking it? I don't think I even got high the first time I smoked.

Honestly, your second two sentences make no sense to me. And when I started smoking, our shit was pretty good. I'll admit there were a couple times it was so strong I felt like I was going to be sick, but it passed in a couple of minutes. Never ER-worthy, though I can appreciate people react differently.
Hedonist...I need to learn how to use quotes like you do.
I was speaking to others about the potency. Someone was saying there is no such thing as super pot, and I was trying to describe how someone who is use to smoking dirt weed may think good kind weed is so powerful they might even think it was laced.
As to the ingestion part. I meant consuming it through digestion. Eating it. Ganja food. It seems like this is more prevalent because it produces a different high, and it tends to last longer. So for the smoker who may come down enough to realize they don't need an ER visit, the one who eats it is in for a longer ride.
I am disgusted by the medical marijuana industry in WA. I believe that marijuana has its medicinal uses, but I have always believed that it should be legal for recreational use.
Talk to her about it see what she thinks about your point of view but under no circumstances do not give her or smoke with her as long as she's under 21 could spell a whole lot of trouble for you ...

Ugh! Eating weed is a LOT different! I don't even do it; completely different, and way too hard core. One time a boyfriend of mine ate chocolate chip and weed pancakes that we made at midnight, and by 1:30am, he was complaining that even his thumbs felt stoned. :fp:

You may as well just do shrooms.

Again, not sure what you mean here. You're glad it was legalized, just not for medicinal use?
Obviously you're set in your beliefs and I'm not gonna try and change your mind...just looking for clarification.
