So, now that there have been a venue change, where are you guys staying?

I guess this one: http://www.backpackers-duesseldorf.de/index.php?lg=en is out of the question. It is not availabil on the 21st.

Isn't a dorm annoying? Maybe it's just me...

I think me and four of my friends are going to stay in a motel. Approxomately 35€ a night. It is not far away from ISS DOME either...
    It's okay, It's okay
You don't have to run and hide away
    It's okay, it's okay
    I love you anyway

that looks good! we've already booked but if you get free travel around Dusseldorf it'd be great. Is it near the ISS Dome?

No budget options near the ISS Dome. Seems like Dusseldorf isn't really much of a town for people on a budget.

I don't think it is too far away, I think we figured it out to be about 30 mins if walking.

budget options are alost always in the city centre..for hostels anyway.
  • Anyone want to split a room at the Hotel AltDüsseldorf? It looks like the best value in Alstadt by far...very highly rated on hostelworld.com. Right in the thick of the action.

$48.75 per person for a two-bed private ensuite (American Dollars)
$41.90 per person for a three-bed private ensuite
$34.95 per person for a four-bed private ensuite

Available Wednesday and Thursday nights. No availability for Friday night.

I'm not too worried about finding transportation to the venue and back. I presume a large number of people will be partying in Alstadt following the show anyway.

If no one responds to this message within the next few days, I'll just book a single for myself.

I'll double-check how far away the hotel is that we're staying at. I think yours is cheaper too, so its a good option!

when it says "free bus and train tickets (arrival until departure)" does it mean for the length of your stay? Or does it mean its free from the airport to the hotel and from the hotel back to the airport?

I believe it to mean that it means for the duration of your stay you can travel around Dusseldorf for free. See quote from website below.
Exclusive for our hotel guests - you can use your personal hotel room card to travel. FOR FREE - use all trams and undergrounds in Dusseldorf from arrival to departure.

Sorry man, I've booked a room with my friend already. Looks like a nifty enough Hotel; highly rated, cheap, breakfast included and it's right in the heart of the action. If anyone else still has to book their accommodation they should consider it, it'd be cool to have a couple of us take over the place :)
  • I booked my room at the Hotel AltDusseldorf. I hope to see all of you in Alstadt for some pre- and post-celebration.
