Wait, I have the video now... where did trent say a North America 2014 tour?
Full quote:
'Here are some thoughts on touring: When we commit to a touring cycle, it usually is at least a year long, and can start to feel stale after X amount of time. What I'm doing this cycle is making each leg of the tour have its own identity. The festival run we did over the summer was very different from the Tension tour we just finished. We're currently rehearsing with a new incarnation of the band for what's ahead. This keeps things fresh from a musician's perspective, but also keeps things interesting for fans in an era where every show ends up on YouTube.
The setlist and presentation moving forward will be very different from what we just did. That's part of the incentive behind releasing the Tension footage now. That was one very specific look at Nine Inch Nails in the Fall of 2013, that I wanted the whole world to be able to see (just like you can see the festival footage on YouTube, which was its own thing). Yes, we are planning to return to North America in 2014...'

I saw Trent two weeks ago in Spokane, great show. The lighting set and effects were some of the most impressive I've ever seen. Good set as well, 9 from the new album and a good mix from the old. 3 or 4 from Fragile. "Big Come Down" was amazing.
Also Trent did an AMA on Reddit yesterday if anyone is wondering where these recent quotes are coming from.
Theyre doing the Australia with QOTSA in March-ish I think? and then the UK in May... so Summer back in the US?
Hmmm...
Maybe. Might be the fall again, if he wants a little time off.
I am expecting NIN to play amphitheatres in their North American Tour 2014. If they do that, I expect them to start, at the earliest, 2nd half of July as they already have dates up until June. I'm sure they will play Toronto again, I mean, they did almost sell out Air Canada Centre in October.
Trent does. Not sure what the other 7 want to do... I guess he has a "new incarnation" of the band again.
Actually, the new incarnation will include Trent, Alessandro Cortini, Ilan Rubin and Robin Finck. Josh Eustis, Pino Palladino, Lisa Fischer and Sharlotte Gibson won't be part of the 2014 tour.

Sounds really cool, though. Would be happy to be at a show again
I certainly did not expect Josh back... he'll probably be busy with Puscifer soon enough, anyway.
We don't know exactly if NIN will go with just these four guys. The idea of them touring without a bassist sounds weird. It did work without a keyboardist (Alessandro) in 2009 though so I'm like "why not?". We'll have to wait and see what happens between now and their shows in Thailand/Australia/New Zealand regarding the line-up. If NIN comes back to Toronto and I manage to get a ticket, it will be the 5th time I go see them. The 4 shows I saw are so different from one another, even though show #2 & #3 were both in 2009 in Toronto as part of their NINJA Tour (show #2 in June 2009) and Wave Goodbye (show #3 in August 2009). The constant line-up, production and setlist changes is what makes Nine Inch Nails my current favourite live band, more than Metallica and Pearl Jam.
Nine Inch Nails will play at a festival in Mexico City. Here's the details for all PJ/NIN fans:
"We're returning to Mexico City for the Vive Latino festival on March 27th. Tickets go on sale this Wednesday Dec 11th at noon CST. Visit http://tour.nin.com/ for more info and ticketing links."

Nine Inch Nails are playing Rock am Ring and Rock I'm Park in Germany. Headliners were already announced last month, which are Metallica, Iron Maiden, Linkin Park and Kings of Leon. Tickets on sale now.
Right when they started playing I guessed that they would be cut short. Too bad, but honestly it didn't sound that good anyway (the stage sound, not the that the bands were playing poorly).

He mentioned the above names on the reddit AMA, as those who were in the band now, but IMO that doesn't necessarily mean he won't have a bass player.
