    Everyone should ring their venues:

Boondall has said NO CAMERAS ALLOWED AT ALL.

Just got off the phone to the chick. She said it's a breach of copyright. Some bands allow small, disposable cameras in but they have just had an update on information from Pearl Jam's manager (or promotor -- she couldn't remember) and at this stage, NO CAMERAS ALLOWED AT ALL!

She did say to ring on the day to check in case Pearl Jam have come and changed the policy but she seriously doubts that will be the case.

    well from 10c:

Camera And Recording Policies For 2006 Tour (Updated)

    Cameras

    -Small, handheld cameras welcome.
-No flash in the first 20 rows.
    -No detachable lenses.
-No professional still or recording cameras.
    -No sticks.
    -No video cameras

Believe me, I told her about the rules on the PEarl Jam website etc and she said that they haven't been told about it -- if Pearl Jam come and specifically say they're allowed, they'll be allowed. If they forget, cameras won't be allowed. I'm starting a thread to Kat/Sea.

Well I just told the chick at Boondall that I can print off a thing off the internet with their camera policy and she said that if Pearl Jam don't specifically say on the day that cameras are allowed, then cameras are NOT allowed. She was pretty adamant about this. So it's up to PJ to remember to tell someone to tell someone to tell the security guards that cameras are allowed.

I can garentee that they'll be tight, they always are in brisbane. there is always signs around the venue saying no cameras. and at past PJ shows they metal detect and frisk people at the ent cent.

just send them a PM, but you know, they may not be on tour with PJ, if cameras aren't allowed in some one should tell the girl at the 10c ticket window, she is from the ten club so she will know who to tell to get cameras allowed in

But they've got to know who to tell so something gets done...

I thought about sending a PM but decided to do a thread so other people who don't read this thread can see that there may be a problem. Because I'd prefer to know now whether they're allowed or not and not have to do the whole cloak room thing etc.

GREAT IDEA about the 10c window girl.

Man, I really wanted to take in a camera....Grrrrr....I'm sneaking it in (and then I'll probably get kicked out!)

Guys just reading your comments about the camera thing and good idea to get as much info from the correct people as possible.

Now Im in no way being a killjoy here but I have a gut feeling that regardless of the info you get and wherever its from, even taking printed emails etc......I bet $100 bucks there's gonna be major issues with security/venues.

Im simply basing this on miscommunication between all parties...you know like when you ring Telstra 10 times to ask something and you get 10 different answers.

In no way saying dont take cameras - just reckon there'll be a cockup.

...who is going to do the whole "wait around the side of the venue after the concert and hope the band eventually comes out for a chat" thing?

Do they always come out? Has anyone done this?

Did this Bris 1 in 03. Waited for about an hour or so and we only saw Ed come out, but he did take the time to say hi to us all and shake our hands. Possibly the coolest thing that has ever happened to me!

Awww.. I was going to take in a handheld digital camera. Someone from 10C needs to contact Acer Arena about the camera policy. So if we do take cameras in and they say strictly no cameras, what happens? Do they confiscate them?

They have a "cloak room" at Brisbane where you can put your stuff that you can't take in....but I'm not too keen on leaving my mum's new camera somewhere like that and then I return and they say "what camera?". I don't know what to do now.

If I get a camera in, then I have to hide taking photos because security will come up and take it away...or me away....

Brisbane Entertainment Centre has a free cloak room, and they also have signs everywhere saying no cameras. Then ten club camera policy is pretty clear in that pretty much anything without a detatchable lense should be fine. That being said I can see major communication problems between 10C and venue security, but i still intend to take me camera and argue my way in.

If they DONT allow cameras into the venue and you decide to sneak one in and get caught, they can force you to cloak your camera, they will probably also try to make you delete the photos. They cant legally force you to delete stuff, but they can kick you out if you refuse...

Well I'm going to be near the front taking photos and if security comes over to me, I'm going to pretend they're grabbing me and treating me badly and then I'll look at Ed and mouth HELP!!! And then he'll stop the song and say "she's alright" and then they won't be game to touch me for the rest of the night and I'll take shitloads of photos.

Then I'll bend down and punch myself in the lip so it's bleeding and try and get Ed's attention and I'll say security punched me but going backstage may make it feel better! What a PLAN!!! :D
