Seems like u can't do anything in Soccer physically and it frustrates me because I'm used to AFL. Everytime the Aussie players tried ot tackle the South Americans they got fouled. Ridiculous rules.

It's called strategy and skill. Not only about bumping other dudes until you get a broken jaw, lose all your neurons and start appearing in ads for Lowes. No offence to any of you who love Rugby or AFL. Just don't like the sport, that's all.

OOHH i get it now, so it's like a game of Chess :)

And it won't be long til the socceroos are on a lowes ad, they have been on ads for everything else since they made the world cup, but it won't be long till everyone who jumped on the bandwagon will go back to forgeting what soccer is.

The thing is, I never jumped into the bandwagon. I was born in it. I came to Australia from overseas when I was 17, and I already loved Soccer. Always did. It just shocked me how Australians were so anti-soccer, calling everyone who played the game "sheila". That's why I started disliking Rugby, because I knew that pretty much everyone who said all those things about Football were Rugby followers.

Just because Rugby is a tough sport doesn't mean that Football is a sissy sport. Might be in comparison, but not in reality.

But I do have to agree that Footballers, specially Southamericans, are all diving bitches. Part of the sport I guess.

yeah, i wasn't saying you jumped on the bandwagon, i've played soccer and i even spent a few years working for a soccer club who are now in the new A-league, and i just think it's funny how all of a sudden every fucker in Australia now loves soccer and don't think it's a sport for poofs anymore. Like every channel now is trying to get more ratings by showing anything to do with soccer, and every man and his dog has been sent to germany to cover the world cup, but SBS(who have surported soccer forever) couldn't afford to send their full soccer presentation line up to germany. they have like 2 guys there and the rest of the shows are presented from Australia. Sam newman got a spary from the fans in germany cause he and the Fotty shows have now become Turn coats and are raving about soccer, it's a fucking laugh.

But i can see it now, after we don't make the second round(if we don't) everyone will turn back and start bagging the socceroos for not making it.

and thats the end of my rant

Unfortunately, I think so too. It'll be a shame to be the only one in my neighbourghood still into soccer... Hope the A-league takes off and that never happens

Well the A-league is doing better here in brissie then i was expecting, i really wrote of the roar, and thought they wouldn't get many to a game, but they are pulling crowd numbers similar to the broncos, and maybe this second year will be even bigger now after the world cup, if we can get some bigger names to come play in australia it will help. Dwight Yorke was a great pick-up for Sydney and if we could get 1 big name to maybe each club it might draw numbers to games. but till we can match what the can get to play in europe it'll be hard to pull big name players

I REALLY shouldnt do it either, but i also have this weird feeling i can get really good tickets. I dont know why.

For melbourne 3, at the civic theater, they had a really quick system that loaded instantly and they set up all my details before 9. It was better than what trudie tried to get me on the net. Also you can see what you get before you buy them, in store or online. I dont wanna go unless i can get REALLY good tix. Its stressing me out too, only cause i know I SHOULDNT go.
