My sister and brother-in-law are in Italy so Leigh and I took my niece and nephew to Chronicals of Narnia: Prince Caspian.

Man, the first one sucked....this was much better....but the four main actors still CAN'T ACT!!!

Aslan is cute though. I want one!!! :D

It's funny because the book version of The Lion The Witxh & The Wardrobe shits all over Prince Caspian imo
The movie version of TLTW&TW stays very close to the book which was extremely satisfying to me, so hopefully Prince Caspian follows the same principle. I think it helps when you have both a director and a producer who are also big fans of the books and know the books inside out.

The next movie, "Voyage of the Dawn Treader" will be the movie to watch out for. That's a great book.

I always found it funny that these books have a great following seeing as though they have VERY strong religious principles running through them eg Aslan = God

I recommend anyone who likes these movies to go and read the books, starting with #1 - The Magician's Nephew

To be honest, I've never read the books! :o I've only watched the cartoon and I remembered a fair bit but nowhere near ALL of the story. We bought the books before the first movie came out but they're still sitting on our bookshelf. I'll definitely read them one day.

I just wish the main actors were a bit better. That King Peter actor just doesn't do it for me.

Being a fan of the books, how were the actors for you? Did you like the first movie?

i still haven't gotten around to seeing those!! loved TLTW and TW growing up so this better be good :D

    did the kiddies like it?

They're 11 and 14 and they both said the first one was "okaaaay" and they thought this one was much better....but I don't think they loved it or will be raving to their friends about it or anything.

Prince Caspian is quite cute though....if I was 15! :D

There's not much room for the actors to work with because that's EXACTLY how they're portrayed in the books. I think people forget that these books were written over 50 years ago so everyday dialogue is somewhat different now than what it was then.
Still, the acting is nowhere near as wooden as Hayden Christensen in Star Wars Ep 2 & 3. He was more wooden than Pinnochio :)

TLTW&TW was written first but the Magician's Nephew is the first in the series. It tells the background story to TLTW&TW (The Professor's connection with Narnia, how the White Witch came to power, why there's a lampost in Narnia etc)
