and to answer your question no not really.
i thought about learning Italian after reading a john grisham which i can't remember the name of, but they hide a guy in some small italian village.
but as for the other stuff, i've heard that Volunteers don't even get paid???
and i really don't spend alot of time gaming, it wouldn't be more then 2 hours a week
Thanks for answering. FINALLY...someone answered. My friend Pete is away. I'd like to ask him that same question but can't.★ 1995 - Brisbane ★ 1998 - Brisbane ★ 2003 - Brisbane ★ 2006 - Brisbane ★

has he said 'oh my i'm wasting time' or is this the viewpoint of friends/fam?
He's 29 actually. In the past year he's talked about why he doesn't have a girlfriend (when he's an awesome bloke), and why after getting paid $70,000+ for 6 years he doesn't own a house or at least have paid off his car and motorbike etc etc? So yes, he's starting to question the amount of time (and money) he's been wasting doing other stuff and whether it was worth it....which is why I thought about the many many hours he spends playing games...amongst other activities. But I just asked you guys about the "games" side since I know some of you talk about playing games.★ 1995 - Brisbane ★ 1998 - Brisbane ★ 2003 - Brisbane ★ 2006 - Brisbane ★

i think he has just grown up and realised it.. what do you think? LOL i DON'T know this guy so i can't presume things yehi can think of people in similar situations, and all have their own ways/activities of 'wasting time' and some are just plain and simply spending their 20s hungover and partying..
isn't it nice to have spare time..while you can..

Have you ever thought about putting all that time you spend playing games into something else? Eg learning a language, writing a book, exercising, volunteering, learning something etc? Do you feel guilty sitting there for a whole weekend or day or whatever doing nothing but playing games?
As I get older, I realise the importance of time and how I don't want to waste copious amounts of it watching tv, sleeping, stuffing around etc....that's what got me wondering about this.
I understand relaxing etc...but imagine what you'd achieve with that time if you were doing something different and more productive?
well thanks for refreshing what you said, here is why everyone jumped down on you
the blue bits, not so bad.
the red bits????
they are the comments that make your original comment seem ignorant and arrogant.
just because you feel gaming is a waste of time doesn't mean that gamers do.
why should gamers feel guilty for enjoying gaming. how does what they do hurt anyone else.
it's not like they are out there raping kittens.
this is the real kicker.
but imagine what you'd achieve with that time if you were doing something different and more productive?
who says the gamers haven't achieved anything? all the people i play with online have very good jobs, most have families and we all just get together on our xboxs on a friday or saturday night for a few hours of fun.
why do you smoke drugs every weekend?
imagine what you could achieve if you didn't spend that time with your head in a bucket.condescending and sarcastic since 19800 -

But the point with my first post wasn't really to criticise the time wastage...it was to wonder whether any of these people had thought of doing anything else with their time -- because they seemed similar to my friend Pete with the game usage?
I know that I'd love to have done more with my spare time over the years...read more, spent more time with my nieces and nephews, maybe done a few more computer program courses....taught my little brother more.★ 1995 - Brisbane ★ 1998 - Brisbane ★ 2003 - Brisbane ★ 2006 - Brisbane ★

Bye everyone
Yeah Ive read stuff about that ........even in older ppl they suggest that kind of activity to keep their brain active......

vital5 wrote:If they play a violent game and then go out on a killing spree.... THEN they should feel guilty... Violent games should be banned... kidding
don't get me started on australia's censorship laws.
like some random games get banned, but some totally fucked up games get through.
like this NFL game i wanted to get got banned cause you could give an injured player an injection to get him back out on the field.
but stuff like gears of war, which don't get me wrong is a hell cool game, but you have a fucking chainsaw on your gun and you can chainsaw big bad fuckers in half and shit.
how is injecting a gridiron player worse then chainsawing fuckers.condescending and sarcastic since 19800 -

I suppose those red bits can be read as if I'm "judging" you all....but they weren't intended to be like that. After 2ish years on here, I thought you'd know me better than that....
And I do think EXCESSIVE game usage is bad....I'm not talking about a few hours on each weekend night or even each night. I play them MYSELF!!!
And I agree with EXCESSIVE pot smoking...it's not good. I'm no fucking angel with time wastage...I never said I was.
