Glenns been trying to talk me into it since he moved there and I had said no way on earth!!!!
But......I'm starting to worry about the kids not having him around :(
Steven (our oldest) is 12 now and if Glenn is going to be there for 5 years......yeah....12-17 is a pretty important age (as is any really) for him to not have his Dad around :(
I realised saying he's got buckley's chance getting me to move there was thinking selfishly and I have to put the kids before myself.

FIVE YEARS? I thought it was 3....three was long enough! It just keeps increasing everytime we talk about it!

I agree...12-17 are important years.....'could' be tough years too...especially for a boy with no dad around.

What does Glenn honestly think about Townsville? Does he like it? Does he think you'll like it? Be hard moving so far away from your mum though.

Geez, must be so hard with him away. I'd be lost without Leigh! :o

Yeah they'd told him 5 years before he left the first time. Could actually be even longer....they've applied for a permanent contract with BHP and have been quietly told, they've pretty much got it.

Glenn LOVES it there, but hasn't really experienced a Summer there, so we'll see :)
Umm.....I think he knows I'd hate it :o That's why he's stopped nagging me.

It would be hard being away from my family AND Glenns family.....not to mention I'd have NO baby sitters
BUUUUT! The kids are really missing him since this job started and when he comes back for his week off, they just get used to him being here and he goes again :(

It's doing my head in :s I really don't wanna move over there....but it's looking like I'll have to - for the kids!!! They all NEED their Dad!!!

    Why would you hate it?

Yeah, no babysitters would be a big pain in the arse. Summers aren't THAT bad -- air conditioning is essential though. We've had heaps of rain the past few summers which has been awesome.

I agree though -- a couple of years are manageable -- FIVE + years is just too long.

Does he HAVE to do this job? Can't he come back home and work somewhere else?

Oh...it looks and sounds like a great place....BUT.....
2 reasons....mainly the humidity......I HATE humidity....even the slightest amount just wipes me out....and I don't like air conditioners either :s

It also seems so far North and so far away from everything??? I dunno???

I s'pose he doesn't HAVE to do this job.....he's been with this company for over 12 years now and they LOVE him....so it makes his job a lot better :) They really look after him!!! Besides all that.....I doubt he'd find anything here that would pay anywhere near what this job is paying, which being a fasmily of 5 is a huge bonus!

It'll all work out, I'm sure :) I'll have to get over there for a holiday. Won't be for a while though.

I'll have to think hard about it again....when he told me about this lead problem...I pretty much made up my mind that I wouldn't even consider moving there. But....I'll look into it a bit more I guess. From reading those 2 articles you posted....the only person that seemed to be saying it was OK was a politician....so yeah.....more research to do me thinks.

Ummm....yeah! Humidity is BAD here in summer....nearly 80-90% sometimes which is shocking! The bitumen roads smoke some days! And you won't last here in summer without an air con. :o

And yes, it IS far away from everything! No 1.5 hour drive to go to Foo Fighters or anything.

I really like it here...but I wish I had heaps of cash so I could travel for concerts more OR it was closer to a big city.

BIG decision....life altering decision. Glad it's you not me making it! :o

I'll keep an eye on the dust problem and tell you if I hear any negative stuff in the paper about it.

Exactly :( That was atrocious!!

I have absolutely NO trust in Dr.s or Dentists over here. I'm sure there are good ones out there, but I'm yet to find one!
I travel from Donnybrook to Dunsborough to see my Dr...

He is extremely good, actually GREAT and he doesnt feel my "BOOZIES" either :D

So have faith Kylie...there ARE good ones out there :)

Going out for Thai with Leigh, mum, dad, Leigh and Jason. I've been hanging to go to this restaurant for over 12 months now. I used to live near it and go ALL the time! My favourite restaurant EVER!!!

That's about it. Nice and quiet one for me!

Iron Man got 4.5/5 and 3.5/5 on At The Movies last night. Margaret said it was really good! It's sitting on 94% on http://www.rottentomatoes.com so I'm thinking it's going to be good. Don't mind RD Jnr either.

Watched new Hulk trailer tonight. He looks too fake.

New Batman is going to be awesome. Leigh's soooo keen for it and keeps reading/watching shit on the internet about it. I've stopped reading/watching so I don't spoil it!
