Yeah I did. I remember watching it when Ed had done it and thought it was just beautiful then. I remember reading about this massive big Hawiian guy in the audience with tears just rolling down his cheeks :) Now that I've heard Iz do it too, it makes even more sense why Ed did it :)

I also heard there were a lot of native Hawaiian's in the crowd who were angry that Ed covered that song

Really! Wow :( that would break Eds heart...if anyone meant no disrespect there, it would have been Ed :(

It's like that over there though. There's a small bit of hostility towards people from the 'mainland'
In fact there's a bit of a movement gathering momentum that wants to break free from the US and become their own nation once more

And I wish them the best of luck in that too!!!!! :)

That clip brought back so many good memories.....of all us gromets with our foamies :D Getting dumped, snapping boards, managing to actually stand up for a wave and trying over and over to do it again.......*sigh* I could go on and on - really great memories!
  • So when exactly were you ther and how long for?

The bodyboarders went off in that clip. I love watching big wave surfers.......they're either some of the bravest people on the planet, or just utterly insane :)

We flew in on the morning of the PJ/U2 show (9/12/06) and set sail that night on a 7 night cruise visiting Maui, Kauai, and Hawaii. After that we had 3 nights in Waikiki

YEAH! The only reason I didn't kick up a fuss when Glenn wanted the 'sport' chanels was so I'd have Fuel TV ;) Could watch it all day. The best show I've seen on there was one of the Billabong ones (gone blank-can't remember which one) and it had footage of this waves that all the locals were absolutely freaking about and this guy srfed it....it was MASSIVE!!! I'd never seen anything like it - he looked like an ant on it!
