yeah...I wasn't a huge fan of it...but I'd rather them play more of the heavier old songs and get the crowd going:D

I know what you mean. At least they still play my all time fave Silverchair song live "The Door"
There's something about that song that makes me wanna dance all day long. I'm like the snake to the snake-charmer :)

haha...I know what you mean.....actually I liked everything pre- Paul Mac days.....it's not that I don't like their stuff after that, but Daniels voice changed...lost it's guts, if you know what I mean?

Even though I love the heaviness of Frogstomp.....Diorama was an amazing album!!

I agree about Diorama. Did you see the "Across The Night" tour?

No...never seen them live:( Hense my excitement!! :)

We were living way down South then on 500 acres in the middle of nowhere.
They were our bad days.....Glenn had an accident, ended up in hospital having major back surgery, we lost everything - house, business - the lot..... Concerts were definately not an option.

EDIT: actually I think it was post all of that and we'd moved up here by then??? but yeah, took us years to get back on our feet again and be able to enjoy any such luxuries

    That must've been hard :(
Kudos to you then for starting again and getting firmly back on your feet.

On the "Across The Night" tour, the concert was split into 2 parts. The first half of the show was all the 'slow' songs. After that there was a 20 minute 'intermission' where you could leave your seat and go for a smoke, drink, toilet etc. The 2nd part of the show was all the 'rocking' songs

It was a cool concept and made a nice change to the usual concert setup :)

    Oh yeah...you do what you have to do, WORK YOUR BUTTS OFF!!!....certainly makes you appreciate everything a LOT more and realize how easy it can all be whisked away. Not something I'd wish on anyone that's for sure. Not fun having to borrow money from your 3 year olds money box, just to buy milk for your baby's bottles etc;
But....my lifes motto - there's a positive to everything - and besides making us appreciate everything even more, it certainly made us stronger :) Not to mention that if our marriage survived all that we went through then, I'd say we're in it forever :D

Getting back on topic :o I think I remember seeing that show on Foxtel once....the show I'm thinking of was in a beautiful theatre (I think) in Newcastle?

Everything happens for a reason, and it takes a special person to overcome shit like that, and it takes an even more special person to take elements of positivity out of a situation like that.

Yes that show was in Newcastle. It was at the Civic Theatre, and you can buy the show as a 2 CD 2 DVD box set called "Live From Faraway Stables"
I think you can buy it for less than $30 now

If you look at the song credits at the end of the DVD you'll notice Spoonman on there.
When the DVD first came out, there was a 'regular' version and a 'deluxe' version. After picking up each and carefully examining them, I came to the conclusion that the only difference was that the 'deluxe' version had a CD with it which included a couple of extra songs. The difference in price was about $6 but I knew I wouldn't listen to the CD much so I bought the 'regular' version.
It was only after watching the DVD and seeing Spoonman mentioned in the credits that I realised that the 'deluxe' version also had extra songs on the DVD too :(
Since then I haven't been able to find a copy of the 'deluxe' version anywhere :(

I have that...I think its the Aol sessions cd from memory
