 They must've been small cockroaches. How disgusting - still I'd rather that than....spider/s....*shudders just typing it*
    I'd rather anything, than spiders!

It's usually only the flying ones that are the big ones. The ones that infestate buildings are small

Are you saying you've never seen an Emu in real life????

We used to get a whole flock (or whatever a group of Emu's is called - I'm sure one of you will correct me  ) go through our property to get to the river....was awsome to see----they're very intimidating birds, though (IMO)

I've brought them home before when everybody was here. It's bad because my bed is up against the wall and it shakes a bit when.......you know ;) I've heard Mum mention "the possums on the roof" more than once before :D

What a shame you're not in Sydney. You could've gone to see Mandeep. He would have fixed you up with a nice Whopper :)

they are so cute and friendly, if they are hand reared of course. If not, then they are just inquisitive and can definitely come across as very intimidating, as they are pecking away at your earrings or watch...anything that shines!

They scare the shit out of me. We've got a place about 20 minutes north of Newie called Oakvale Farm. It costs about $10 to get in and it's full of animals. The kangaroos roam free along with with goats, sheep and a few donkeys. They've also got enclosures for koalas, wombats, camels, cockatoos, emu, cassawary (sp) and dingoes
