During the performance of "Daughter" the following lyrics were sung to the tune of Pink Floyd's "Another Brick in the Wall" but were cut from the webcast:aus_suz wrote:What got censored.......I need to leave this thread more.....LOL
- "George Bush, leave this world alone." (the second time it was sung); and
- "George Bush find yourself another home."
Like I said...it's nothing he hasn't said before and it's no biggy.....but that's the point - why mute it?!0 -
I wonder how much of a delay there was on the Lolla webcast then.... if someone had time enough to think about whether or not to bleep out George Bush comments ... heh
Blame Perry Farrell of formerly of Jane's Addiction.. he astarted the Lolla thing...0 -

We all know what he said, and he's said it before eg; Storytellers, but I think it's just the fact that there was no reason to mute it?
Yeah Im sure thats the reason as well but I cant see how it warrants so much debate/conversation etc.
Dont get me wrong I think its terrible but doesnt need 6000 people to get involved. As Glenn said no real surprise that it happeneded. Maybe just a boring news day?????I'll ride the wave where it takes me.0 -
Did I miss the chance to see Chris Cornell?! Damnit... my brother told me how good Linkin Park's CD was... Then i saw they were touring but refused to buy tickets... hehe... that was because i didnt realise they were touring with Chris Cornhole....0

Was that at Lolla or the Vic show......
I must admit I get worrried about crazy Bush supporters that might react the wrong way and do something silly....0 -

Did anyone read the little Nirvana booklet that came with this months Rolling Stone?
I laughed at Jeff Aments comment responding to Kurt saying that Pearl Jam was riding on Nirvanas coat tails...LOL....Good call Jeff.......:)0 -
I agree totally.... I think it's disgusting! BUT..... 1. I think it must be boring day on the pit and after Vic and Lolla, everyone's looking for new discussions....but I think the main reason isDonJon wrote:Yeah Im sure thats the reason as well but I cant see how it warrants so much debate/conversation etc.

Happy happy joy joy!!!:D
After I quoted from Against The 70's the other night, Rob....I remembered a CD that I'd got (I think from a guy in US from the old Synergy board) years ago with that song on it....and thinking I hadn't seen or listened to it for quite a while....so I've spent all day today trashing my house looking for it. I just found a box full of PJ treasures in the back of my wardrobe!!!! I'd packed it all when we got evacuated last time and just left it all packed (in case we had to go again). What a find!!!! The CD I was looking for was in there - it's got all the early Chrissy singles on it...lot's of Ramblings LOL! also heaps of really old books, that I will drool over for the rest of the day:D
A book that I bought YEARS ago called 5 Against 1 by Kim Neely....brilliant book -have any of you read it?
Yippy! It's like christmas:D0 -

5 Against 1 = LAME
the 1st part about the early seattle scene is ok but then the author just rags on everything that has no importance really to the band. only interviewing people who have a beef with the band, eg. Ed's stepdad, Dave A.
i think the author didn't get the access to the band they were after so they decided just to look for the negatives.condescending and sarcastic since 19800 -
Hmmm. Interesting. I must say it's probably about 7 or so years?? (guess) since I read it......but I know I must have loved it, because I'm not a big reader of books and I know I finished that one, hence must have liked itthreefish10 wrote:5 Against 1 = LAME

I should probably read it again and see if, after all that time, my opinion has changed. I remember the first part (pre Pearl Jam) was really interesting.0 -

yeah, it's probably that long since i read it. but i just remember it crappying on way too much about Ed's childhood and stuff.
but yeah i tried to re-read it recently and just couldn't get too far past the 1st section about seattle in the early grunge days.condescending and sarcastic since 19800
