I don't know. Perhaps we don't truly understand Satan, and that he's really a softy at heart. Perhaps a down-on-his-luck angel...

i understand. mankind invented satan (just as they invented God) in order that the peeps believe in God in all his glory. there has to be balance.. there had to be a bad guy, so satan is it. the 'evil'(i prefer badness) of mankind is inside them and their own doing.. just as the goodness in mankind is their own and not the result of a supernatural being. both are simply tools of control.

I read somewhere, somebody counted the death toll.

Satan killed 10 people, God 2 million +.

Maybe a metaphor for both. Evil is bigger than a character in a myth... but love trumps.

    Anyway...

God isn't real, satan is made up and angels are just storybook faries.

if understanding ever becomes a fault we know there is evil about ;)

when I laid my head to rest last night I wondered why I believe in good as much as I do.
I got an answer back and it wasn't from Satan.

My answer ... it is good to believe. :D
Man did I sleep good too best in a long time.

so the opposite of love is evil? hmmm  i always thought the opposite of badness (aka evil) is goodness.

Anybody read Memnock the Devil by Anne Rice?
Its the 5th or 6th book in her vampires series. I didnt like it much the first time I read it, but I re-read it a few years ago, and it was an awesome take on the devils fall from grace. I really enjoyed it.
Pick up my debut novel here on amazon: Jonny Bails Floatin (in paperback) (also available on Kindle for $2.99)

Don't believe in god, so don't believe in satan. Though one can look at the god/satan, good/bad thing as just another expression of yin & yang. Opposite yet interconnected force - one cannot be without the other. But yes - within man and not supernatural....

Jonny - I have a soft spot for Anne Rice and the Vampire Chronicles

I posted this late last night and then went to bed and realized I had really meant "goodness trumps" and wanted to get up and change it but Satan had me pinned down with his famous "Devil's Half-Nelson". This hold is exactly why wrestling has been eliminated from the Olympics. Oh, that damned Satan!
