There is a better chance of Jennifer Aniston coming over to my house, wearing a French Maid outfit, and telling me how sexy she thinks Truck Drivers are.

Than there is of you people getting GA tickets.
That is probably true for most... but not all. My Lost Dogs ad is a back up plan. ;)

 It's just that I'm waiting on someone to confirm a GA ticket (or not) - they're needing to wait to see if a friend can or can't go. So that's Plan A with fingers and toes crossed - I am not banking on it, but there's hope. Plan B is waiting to see if someone else's friend comes or not - that's for a reserved seat. Randomly asking on Lost Dogs is Plan C. Plan D is just waiting until prices drop and buying from resellers; this is not my preference; I'd much rather have a ticket buddy. Plan E cannot be mentioned on a family friendly forum such as this one. ;) Kidding!

But yeah, the GA ticket thing is a bit out of control. Not people looking for ticket buddies at face value - that's cool... But people offering expensive trades, and up to $1000 cash, etc, is bullshit. And the ones with tickets who want to sell for profit or take these trades are even worse. A lot of 10C members are stomping all over the principles that 10C is trying to maintain, and it's disappointing to this idealistic member.

Yes, because the sellers don't actually have tickets yet

This makes the most logical sense now after reading everyone's thoughts on the matter. Sellers with these way overpriced tickets do not actually have tickets, they are hedging their bets that they will score them and be able to flip them for a profit, albeit probably not a large one. Seems like a lot of effort to make a buck. just my .02 cents.

What's the effort??? It takes all of 5 minutes in front of a PC to create a Stubhub listing stating that you have great tickets priced at a ridiculous amount. You then go on with your life. Within a couple days someone "buys your tickets" at the ridiculous amount. You continue to go on with your life. A week before the show you go onto Stubhub and instantly buy similar tickets for next to nothing; they are shipped or e-mailed to you. You turn around spend another 5 minutes to ship or e-mail the tickets to your original buyer. If shipping you just hit a "Print Shipping Label" on Stubhub.

There isn't an easier dollar to be made.

well I guess that is something I wouldn't waste time doing; er making an effort of robbing a fellow pearl jam fan just to make a buck. I'd rather make money a more noble and honest way. But that is just me. If I enough money, I'd buy everyone a ticket. I just want to acquire a ticket legitimately, which is why I started this thread. And my question was about if purchasing GA tix on Stubhub was legit.

Sometimes making an easy buck is not so easy later on. what goes around comes back around, imho.

Another Stubhub thread went up, so I went and counted all the tickets sold so far. For GA there have been 23 tickets sold so far on Stubhub with a low price of $750 and a high of $1,925. We'll see if any/all of those come thru. Hopefully someone on here has bought and will let us know how it turned out.

2,189 tickets sold so far on Stubhub
  • My understanding is that all of GA are reserved for fan club only.

so if I am a valid Ten Club member (which I am), can I purchase the GA section tickets from Stubhub and gain legit entrance to GA section? (yes, I know the prices are high)

    Thanks--

They wouldn't know the difference if it was a real ticket/wristband; they don't check IDs at the door or anything ... But I'm convinced that none of them are real tickets. I think it's just scalpers making assumptions (at best).

yeah, I get that there is some stock market-esque shennanigans going on with puts and calls on tickets that don't seem to exist.

am i asking too many questions about this? I just don't want to waste my $$$ buying a ticket if it won't let me gain entry. Not trying to be a pain, but I don't like to throw money away.

You'll get your ticket. The starting price for tix on stubhub continues to drop, slowly but surely. :) But you might also find a 10C ticket. I think some usually become available when people start finding out that their friends can't make it, etc.

    Don't mind him.

Just don't buy a ticket from some dude on the street, and you'll be fine. You won't be denied entry ever if you have a ticket that isn't counterfeit.... If 10C found out you were breaking any ticket purchasing rules (i.e. scalping 10C tix) you could have your membership taken away though.

oh gosh, no... I am like a polly pure bred, I never break the rules and I would never scalp a ticket to make a buck. not bragging but I paid for my friend's ticket to a concert we went to a few months ago (over $500) cuz she was unemployed and couldn't afford a ticket and I like to be up front - she tried to pay me back, but I said no. What goes around comes around :-D

powers that be frown upon discussion of stub hub and ebay....they only support face value ticket sales.

i'm kind of curious, what the stance is on ticket sales below face value that occur on the secondary market. kat? sea? can you comment when you lox it? thanks

Well you don't have to draw attention to it.;)

I think it's okay if we talk about this, as long as no one is posting links or advertising stubhub tix, etc., no? ... I mean, they know some members are going to have to buy from the secondary market... It's not like anyone is happy about it. I think this thread is super useful because it gives people info on how this bullshit industry works, kind of like a warning!

no matter what, I will be perfectly happy just to be there and experience Wrigley and some really good sounds from PJ. But lets face it, for those of us who are willing and able to pay the *censored's* astronomical prices, you can bet we will pay them to get a closer seat to the stage.

Yeah... That's why the industry can have such high prices, unfortunately. :(

I don't know how to delete this thread/topic. I tested deleting another thread I made, but this one doesn't have the box to check off to 'delete'. Do I need to have a moderator delete it? I just don't want it to cause strife. this is a happy forum. I don't want my questions ruffling feathers and such... :nono:

I wouldn't worry about it if I were you. It's been here for quite a while, and they haven't locked it. There is no arguing, no links that aren't allowed.... It's a good conversation; no reason to delete it! If they want to lock it, they will (don't see why they would), but it's not like you'd get in trouble or anything. A PM pointing out any rule you may have broken maybe. But simply talking about the secondary market isn't against the rules (maybe it's in the wrong forum though). Anyway, you can't delete threads that others have contributed to. Even the mods can't do that I don't think.

you can only delete a thread before it has replies. you can pm a mod and ask them to, and I'm sure they'll happily oblige. I'm shocked this one isn't locked yet, to be honest. they don't even like the secondary market to be discussed.
