Is it legit to purchase GA Field tickets from Stubhub?
Forgive me if this is a silly question, I am new to 'ten club' fan club and have always purchased my concert tickets off the secondary market (like Stubhub) to get the good seats when I go to concerts. I was caught in the New England blizzard last weekend and had no power and could not log in to try to get tickets on Feb 9.
I noticed Stubhub GA Field tickets say they will be available the day of show, do they not email them? My question is simply how does this system work and is it legal?
I am travelling to Chicago for this show (already booked my hotel/plane) and just want to make sure I really have a ticket before I pay online.
If I am able to get 2 tickets, this will be my very first Pearl Jam show I have seen Mr. Vedder's solo shows many, many times and am looking forward to finally seeing PJ live, as I've been a fan since way back when.
Any information would be greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance.

no way to say if it is legit or not - no way any of us know the seller.
stubhub does have protection g'tees built into their sales so you are safer than say using Craigslist....

Thanks. I've purchased just about all my EV solo tix off of stubhub, however the tickets were always emailed to me promptly.
I'll just have to wait and see how this plays out. I am sure any seat in Wrigley will be a good seat, but kinda had my hopes up for buying in GA Field section.

It would be funny if they came up with a way to mark the tix or wristbands so you had to be the actual person to pick them up and to get into the GA section with them.

Hey seller, I'm gonna go ahead and paypal you $1200 right now, and then come July, I will fly into Chicago and look for you to meet up with me in a parking lot to hand me over my tickets.
Sounds perfectly safe to me!

lol
so if the delivery date is before the show do you think they are legit? I noticed some other tickets that had delivery dates that were sooner but these seats were not in the GA section.
I really just want to go to the show no matter what since I am in Chicago that weekend.
Thanks for all the replies, I am new to this 10c ticket stuff and I am just trying to learn the ropes.
any problems. I feel perfectly safe purchasing there.
In order to SELL tickets, you have to provide a credit card number and authorize stubhub to charge you if your tickets are not what you listed. In addition, stubhub does not pay the seller until after the tickets are received by the buyer. These rules keep scammers away. It simply does not make them any money to pull something on stub hub.
The people saying it is not safe, have clearly never used stub hub.
I too have used Stubhub for most of my concert ticket purchases (most recently, EV's solo shows) and never had a problem, but always had ticket emailed and in hand prior to the show.
I am just more concerned with being legit. I am one of those people who never gets a ticket when they first go on sale, no matter how hard I try, I always have to pay dearly to sit where I want by using the secondary ticket market, but I don't mind as long as I am not breaking the rules and I do have my limit on what I will spend.
he ask if its safe to buy GA Field from stubhub
answer is the same
NO

But when I went to the Rose Bowl this year, I bought my tickets the same day as the event and stubhub had their own "will call" tent set up in the parking lot. I picked up the tickets, and sat in the front row for less then face value, since I bought the tickets 1 hour before the game started. Guess the seller thought something is better than nothing.
God. The prices on Stubhub are outrageous. Even 500 levels are going for $400 - $600 per ticket right now. :fp: Can't believe anyone would spend that!
thanks!
There is some risk, but it is tiny. No guts, no field ticket.

I do agree, the prices today are a bit high for the Wrigley venue and perhaps they will come down a bit. I watched the prices for EV's solo shows come down a bit on Stubhub. I did pay close to $1000 for two tickets (many times) for front row but it was worth every penny, as seeing EV in the smaller venues and in the front row is like no other concert experience... its like sitting in his living room and listening to him play, I could easily blow $500 bucks on some new clothes and shoes, or I can go see an Eddie show once in a while.
I think I will continue to keep going to see Eddie shows even if I have to shell out some cash, after all, how many pairs of shoes and clothes does a gal really need?
well I am not a teeny bopper, in my 40s and have worked hard all my life, so spending a little cash doesn't bother me for something like this, as I don't waste money on other things that many people do. I can afford up to $1500, maybe even a little more for a ticket. Going to EV and PJ concerts are my one splurge in life. Its not that I like having to pay more than face value, but I never luck out and score them when they first go on sale.
My main concern was just staying legit. I don't want the Pearl Jam ticket police at my door... :nono:

I really appreciate the feedback!
Thanks.
Can I have one???
I hate to say this, but....
Like it or not Dimi, there are GA tickets out there, no matter what 10C is telling you. Chicago is a big city, and so many people with connections and calling in favors will get tickets.
This is the thing about having a GA area... there's "capacity" and then there's capacity. major venues/concert promoters frequently jam more people into GA areas than their allowed, if there's the demand.
I'm sure 10C were told they got all the GA's.... but I gaurentee you there's people out there with them already in their hand...
And again, like it or not, if a fan club member is determined to scalp his GA for some ungodly sum of money, he'll do it, and someone will pay for it... once the tickets are in his hands from the box office, there's so many things you can do with them....
whatever i know i pass it..i want to help good people out there..
so far only 1 GA i found and pass it to a friend..more than 20 seated..
5 months..i hope all get fixed..
and really..there are 2 people im dying to help with GA ...ill fuckin find spares for them..

After doing some research, whoever posted about "capacity" and capacity is 100% correct. 10C may have been told they have all GA seats by Wrigley, but that is not the case.
I was in GA at both Springsteen shows at Wrigley and there seemed to be about 2500-3000 people in the GA section. However, if that seems like a big number don't be alarmed. Because of how it's set up no matter where you are in the GA area you'll have a clear and close view to the stage.
