They came from the same county as me, 10 miles from where I was raised, and supported the same football team. It's a small world :D

my wife has a similar story... she met an Irish family when she was in the queue to go up the Empire State Building (she was with her family as she was only 15 or 16).... then my wife and her parents went down to Disneyland and in the queue before them to get tickets was that very same Irish family they had met in New York  it was about 5 or 6 days after the initial meeting and you can imagine how many people visit both these attractions on any given day!!!

just freaked me out listening to it never mind actually being there :):D
oh scary... 40000 morbidly obese christians wearing fanny packs invading europe is probably the least scariest thing since I watched an edited version of The Care Bears movie in an extremely brightly lit cinema.

Woah......look after your luggage. When I flew with KLM from Amsterdam to Helsinki a few years ago, my case never showed up.

Five days on one pair of pants was not much fun.......though Helsinki was amazing all the same, even if we did have to spend most of our money on clothes for the wedding we were there for.

I hope that by pants you mean trousers and not underpants!!!
  • erm....no, I'm afraid not.

Had to end up going commando for some of the time.....like I said, had to spend money on clothes for the wedding, so pants had to sacrificed.

Rest assured.....I always carry a spare pair or two of boxers in my hand lugguage now :)

Pants can't be THAT expensive (OK, might have preferred to spend your 'pants' money on beer!) :D:D:D
  • yeah....but I need big ones, more material, more expensive ;)

...Ahem...yeah, Helsinki isn;t the cheapest of cities so pants had to be sacrificed for food and beer, especially in this amazing little bar tucked away down an alley in the centre....took us ages to find but the beer was fantastic :)

  • Long time lurker but I thought I'd pop in and say hi :)

Stay in Glasgow but will be flying in from Frankfurt on the 22nd. Staying at Barnacles which I think should be fairly close to The Temple Bar if anyone knows?

Hope everyone has a great time.
  • Well, that's my flight booked (raging because it was £20 cheaper yesterday - damn me and my swithering) so I'll be arriving a Dub airport at 11.50 from Glasgow on the 23rd.

Still stuck for accomodation ideas. Am foolishly trying to find somewhere cheap, quiet, close to point? Yeah, moon on a stick time.

Quite a few jammers seem to be suggesting Jury's Inn Custom House but it's a bit more ££ than I was looking to spend (typical Scot), then again I could try and charm family into contributing as part of birthday..

What are your accomodation suggestions guys?

I'll update you as soon as I'm sorted.

I really don't know a thing about Dublin but you can check out hostels from here. http://www.hosteldublin.com/index.php
hope that's any help whatsoever. :) good luck on finding a place to stay. I think more people are on tomorrow so you can try and ask them then. :)

    Or try http://www.centralr.com
You can get hotel room rates much cheaper than booking direct with the hotel..sometimes for half (or more) of the price you'd normally pay.
    I always book through there.
    Good luck :-)
