End of conversation because YOU say so? I don't think so. I don't believe that he knows the reason Eddie was pissed. Did he talk with Eddie? I don't think he did. I think he's full of shit just like most of the people on this board are with all their stories but yet they never have anything to back it up.

LOL! What more do you need to have it backed up? In East Rutherford I will get a hand written letter from ED for the idiot who doesnt believe anyone. Ed just loves to throw shit as hard as he can at people and then storm off stage. Then the guy leaves the area but NO thats not why ED was mad. You really look stupid.

ya think the band members are starting to feel the pressure from the new marketing plan they signed on to? It has got to grate ontheir nerves a little - all these appearances, interviews, access by the media. Perhaps a little regret? or just plain tired. they are intense - it must be draining.

You actually use LOL, but I'm the one that looks stupid? You'd better take another look.

  • NJSHAWN is correct. it was at the guy with the press pass who kept coming back for more pictures. they can stay for the first 4 songs only. it was the Camden security that screwed up. they shouldve done their job and kept him out.

the guys with the videocameras are always allowed tho. they operate the live video feed that goes to the people in the lobby and the lawn.

no. but we provided facts based on us being there and seeing it, yet people are still speculating about what it was.

We all know how Jimmy feels about Eddie. I doubt he would be on this board, he is busy on the Black Sabbath boards.

Yeah you may be right. Man it is already 15 shows in 21 days not to mention the interviews. I realized on the 2003 tour how hard it is. And doing the states first is a first I think.

But last night rocked didn't it? I could give 2 craps about a photographer getting hit by a towel!

Fuck the towel. Ed pretty much threw his guitar at the guy. But ed seemed pissed all night. The pick at Jeff, and then (i forgte what song) he busted up his mike stand. I felt like I time warped to the early 90's for a few minutes.

ok for FINAL clarification. There was a shirt thrown on stage. It landed about 3 feet in front of Eddie. He barely even acknoweldged it. He was staring the photographer down for awhile. Finally he got so pissed that he grabbed a wine soaked towel and threw an f'ng fastball right at the guys head. It wrapped around his head nicely. I "peeled" it off and just held onto it. The photographer hung his head and walked away. The rest of the show there were NO photographers there.

Sounds like ole Ed had an Axl moment.. Only thing missing was his non return and a RIOT....:)
  • Bob and NJShawn, thanks for filling us in on why Ed was mad ...

having been a few rows back, and on mikes side, it wasn't too easy to see what was going on ... but it was very evident that eddie was pissed ... starting with Garden\Whipping especially and the mic stand being thrown ...

but then the tantrum at the end of RVM especially ...
the guy next to me and I were looking at eachother like "WTF ..." ... he had thought the mic stand thing was sort of a "manufactured bit" ... but we saw him storm off CLEARLY ANGRY ... not just haming it up ...

good to know the legitimate, and believeable to anyone who isn't a 4yr old idiot, story you two shared.

    Thanks!
    mystery solved.
    :D

enjoy your towel bob, you freak.
    :D

    ps.
now lets talk about the look on Jeff's face when Mike was doing StarSpangledBanner ... it was this look of "you idiot. you aren't hendrix. i can fucking play that, and i'm the bassist. this BETTER not be costing us 14K ... you BETTER not go over curfew..." ... he wasn't angry, but he just looked like he was watching a hack attempt at hendrix (which i guess is what it was .... no flames please, we all love mike, but who here is gonna say he sounded remotely like hendrix? :D )
If I was to smile and I held out my hand
If I opened it now would you not understand?

yeah i was up on the barricade as well... Was this photographer the guy who had the little kid with him? For some reason I didnt think they were regular press photographers though.. I heard some of the security guys saying that a few certain photogaphers were allowed there all night, because they had a certain badge/pass on... as long as they were not at the center of the stage area which was designated with red tape on the floor. Anyway, I know after awhile (late first, early second encore?), Kerensa came over to the guy and i guess told him he had to leave because they gathered up all their belongings and followed her out. Security is always really good about getting the press out of there after 3 songs, i wonder why this happened?

anyway that was my perspective of the whole thing.

yes this is what i said in the beginning when i thought it was a shirt i really think it added to the intensity of the show! never saw eddie get like that live (ive heard about it) amazing show!
  • homeratbathomeratbat Posts: 219
IT WAS NOT A SHIRT, IT WAS A TOWEL. he threw it the photographer who was there for way too many songs (supposed to be 3 only). How do I know? I HAVE THE TOWEL!! i grabbed it off the photographers head and was holding it up/wearing it the rest of the show!!

i'll post some pics later this morning. My buddy has a decent pic of eddie as he's throwing the towel.

thanks for clearing this up! very interesting update on the whole thing

My take on the whole thing is this: Eddie did fastball a pick at Jeff. He broke his string on the next song as he hammered away. Then he tossed the mic stand on the next song. Finally he tossed his guitar at his monitor at the end of RVM and left the stage without the rest of the guys before the song was over. When they came back out Mike was pepping him up. Pats on the back, half a hug, etc...
As far as Mike's solo, I think it rocked both nights. I could read Matt's lips right after, as he approached Mike. He said "that was awesome".
    90 shows and counting...some of my favs: Randall's Island night 2, Milwaukee '95 night 2, Hawaii '06, St Johns '05, PJ20!

The guy with the kid was Danny Clinch. His kid who is maybe 10 years old was snapping pics with his own camera. At one point Eddie looked right into his camera while he took a few shots, it was really cool, the kid was so happy.

it really looked like he DID hit jeff in the face...

    i was like HOLY SHIT...

ed and jeff are gonna start fighting on stage! lmao :D

it looked like jeff got hit in the face, and then he smiled and started goin all over the place... was great

ed should hit jeff more often in the face :D
  • why do I find this thread so entertaining?

I read earlier speculation that Ed was angry with Mike because he wasn't 'into' the songs enough, or something like that. Don't believe everything you read on the internet.

I like this version of events much better. Good job snagging the towel!!!
