Based on what i have read of Sydney 2, how ironic is what ed says at the start of this clip

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=r5uevFNXIio

EDIT: and that, my friends, is how you rock out to Go.

man ive been to both shows and have to say that reviewer is juts a fuckwit

the acoustic encore starting with man of the hour is what won my father and his friends over....stating that black is as good and epic to stairway to heaven

i have to admit, the wednight show (show 2).....felt a little strange....eddie was as fun loving and even gave our section the double bird......i was a bit confused?? were we supposed to give that back to him????

i mean in all fairness the crowd werent as energetic....but how can anyone...even the die hards dance to unemployable or army reserve??? i would rather sit and listen to them all sound tight and eddies voice (which was bettere than first night)...

but honestly........i could see the confusion when they launcehd into down and sad....and i was perhaps the only one when those songs started that screamed YEAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH *CLAP CLAP CLAP* causing those around me to give me strange looks...i felt like syaing FUCK U BITCH THERE PLAYINFG DOWN!!!!........but its no surprise...i was pretty stoned.....so i played my part in being a tad lifeless.........even thos i was still rocking out

I am betting the double bird was because he was rather frustrated that the only thing getting the crowd going was the big hits (daughter and alive). Kind of a F--- you if that is all you care about...

  • I hate to think what Adelaide's second show will be like if Sydney's second night crowd was so luckluster.

I dont understand our crowds either. Last time I felt they could have been better, this time they better be! I remember PJ played Baba O'reilly at Melb 1 I think it was, I'm pretty sure the crowd rocked out to this. Think the house lights were on if I recall correctly. Back then I wasn't as die hard as I am then but even I knew Baba O'Reilly. I'm going to U2 so it'll be interesting to compare the different crowds. U2 we'll be on the lawn, no seats. Interesting to see if lack of seats make a difference. I really think seats are a pain in the ass. I wish everyone would just stand up on their seats so that the Security Personnel give up trying to get everyone to sit down again. Cant stand the thought of people at concerts sitting down like stunned mullets.

the seats and security played a big part in the crowd reactions, i think....

we werent allowed to leave our seats at all, i was in an aisle seat, and if i even took one step into the aisle to 'rock out' i was told to go back to my seat and stand there.......

whatever happened to moshpits? thats what i wanna know...

  • yea no shit..... when you compare our crowds to Europe's, while we probably are quieter, you have to consider they had GA shows. And trust me that makes a HUGE difference to the show's atmosphere

  • My fave part of last night:

Ed's cheeky grin whilst giving the finger to the left and right side stands.

    Classic :D

any pearl jam show is great but it sadens me that aussie crowds arent the best in the world.... they seem to be the worse whether its a problem with the promoters or the demagraphic itself.... I think there are way too many people going who have no clue what pearl jam are about. I mean you go to see pj in Los Angeles are people all around the stadium are so pumped they are almost falling off the rafters.... Australia is just different. Maybe people in Aust just don't know good music (like the who which shocks me).... Triple M and Nova should have a good look at itself.
Sydney giggers aren't known for being the most outwardly enthusiastic lot. I wouldn't lump the crowds from other cities in on the basis of a Sydney show at all.

I have no problems with commercial radio being what they are. They need the advertising dollars. Commercial media is about profit, not quality.
