I’ve always felt the cowboys are more in eagles fans heads than vice versa.

it’s like…..and I hate to admit this, but it’s true….the dodgers are more in giants fans heads than vice versa.

At this point it's just fun to dance on Dallas's grave over and over again because of how much of a joke they are, as opposed to what the owner perceives them to be due to what they won 30+ years ago.
I 100% get it. It’s a clown show at Jerryworld.

I made a work-friendly Philly sports quiz (I'd expect all of you to get 33/33 on this).

    1.        What Philadelphia American League baseball team won the 1910, 1911, 1913, 1929 and 1930 World Series, before moving out west in the 1950s?

    2.        In what baseball stadium did the Eagles beat the Chicago Cardinals 7-0 in a blizzard to win the 1948 NFL Championship Game?

    3.        What was the nickname of the youthful 1950 National League Champion Phillies?

    4.        What college did Tom Gola play for, who won the 1954 NCAA Basketball Championship?

    5.        What offense and defense playing and concrete selling Eagle made the game saving tackle to win the 1960 NFL Championship over Vince Lombardi’s Green Bay Packers? (just first name is ok)

    6.        Which rival has beaten the 76ers franchise 15 times in the NBA playoffs?

    7.        What was the “mean” nickname for the 1970s Flyers?

    8.        What international team (not Canadian) did the Flyers beat in January 1976 at The Spectrum? (just name the country)

Nobody has gotten #9 right yet.

Yes, Carlton won Game 6. The broadcast shows his regular season record of 24-9 and basically just shrugged.

#28 - I'll accept cereal - it was Raisin Bran.

#26 and #33 still out there.

But more importantly, why I'm here right now: apparently teams can wear their alternate units in one playoff game. They would be stupid not to wear them on Sunday.

As opposed to... just keep wearing the regular uniforms the whole postseason? If you won 2 so far...

    Correct. Not the zoo.

The zoo was Rocky two. "You know, I was wondering, what do you think you are doing for the next 40 or 50 years? What do you mean? I was wondering if you wouldn't mind marrying me very much. Whatcha say? If you wouldn't mind marrying me too much? Yes. I'd like to marry you." Great scene.

Is there a comparison the other way around? Having a hard time thinking of an elite level Eagle, Phillie or Sixer player going to a rival and excelling even close to this level. I'd be losing my mind.

TO to the Cowboys sort of....but of course he never won anything there.

Reggie to Green Bay, Barkley (Charles) to Phoenix, maybe Rolen to Cards? But then again all of those people were either sick of ownership or the city ran them out of town in some sense. Actually, I have to think Reggie and Barkley come closest to someone that wanted to stay but ownership bungled it.

scott rolen, who probably shouldn’t be in the HOF, but is?

today’s HOF inductees were OK by me but I personally wouldn’t put billy wagner there. that said, they’ve inducted worse.

Is there a comparison the other way around? Having a hard time thinking of an elite level Eagle, Phillie or Sixer player going to a rival and excelling even close to this level. I'd be losing my mind.

TO to the Cowboys sort of....but of course he never won anything there.
Not direct rivals but Sergei Bobrovsky from the Flyers to Panthers.  Stanley Cup Champion,  Vezina winner and probably a Hall of Famer.

Ryne Sandberg, Cris Carter, Jeff Carter.

and not a player but Andy Reid.  yea we fired that guy.

Nah....Saquon was a GIANT. Rolen going to St Louis is not remotely the same thing. Neither is Sandberg, Carter, Andy or the hockey players the other guy is talking about (although I'm not exactly the guy to talk about regarding hockey stuff).

Billy Wagner....hmmm, sorta, kinda. He was only here for a short time though. I'd put the TO situation over his.

This must be absolutely brutal for Giants fans lol.

Rocky. The mobster’s driver tells Rocky to “TAKE HER TO THE ZOO. SHE’S R••••••D”.

Guess they actually go to the zoo in Rocky 2. IDK I never watch that one.

it’s all consuming. I can’t think about anything besides saquon in eagles gear. I haven’t slept more than 2 hours a night since the playoffs started. My kid has been completely neglected, not sure I even fed her dinner tonight. In meetings at work I keep getting yelled at for day dreaming about saquon Barkley. My life is spiraling and I might never come out of it…

But more importantly, why I'm here right now: apparently teams can wear their alternate units in one playoff game. They would be stupid not to wear them on Sunday.
As opposed to... just keep wearing the regular uniforms the whole postseason? If you won 2 so far...
    Undefeated in the Kelly Green
Yeah I know. It’s messing with my OCD that you’d play 3 straight home playoff games and change the uniforms.

Ah. The Chiefs had 3 home playoff games for the 2021 season. They lost the AFC Championship to Cincinnati.

Poor Cliffy 😂. Pretty sure we have all figured out how to compartmentalize bad things that happen.

I mean...Saquon to the Eagles is like prime Utley going to the Mets right? Can you imagine that? Holy shit.

That's about right, but would not be surprised if they lose though I don't really see it. This team is better basically in every aspect of the game, fanduel's got the spread at -6.5 & line at -280. It would certainly be a goddamn implosion lol

EDIT: Of course I preempt everything that this is Philadelphia and I'm a Philadelphian. Anything is possible when it comes to being let down.

And yeah, I've thought about it and I don't really see a comparison in our lifetimes where one of the best players a certain position went to a divisional/regional rival and went on to have the best season of their career.

Been hearing some comparisons to Tampa '02 this week. I have rarely, if ever, allowed myself to get as confident as I was headed into that game. ALTHOUGH--Phils a couple years ago was probably the closest I've ever been.

    Goddammit.

You think they go kelly green Sunday?

I agree with that I think, except Hurts' injury kind of messes with that confidence. But I'd say this is close to Tampa '02/Carolina '03/DBacks '23 all rolled into one. Because that would suck lol

I think they should go Kelly Green on Sunday, but I'm not holding out hope. If they do, though, well, then the Commies will feel the fire of 10,000 suns.

McNabb '03 and Hurts '25 both playing on injured legs, reduced mobility. FUCK
