I'm so-so on this trade. I see the value but the pickup for future years just makes me impatient. Football isn't a game where you need to plan a long-term rebuilding process.

i think it's  good deal. Guess we won't know for sure until we know who we draft and all.

McLeod tot he Colts. Might be some legitimacy to this idea of Mathieu then.

Like the Jordan Davis pick, nice piece to replace Cox. If anything I can trust in Howie to know to always beef up those lines. Wouldn't be surprised to see them trade down next.

I love that trade. I’ll take an established 4th year WR over a draft pick. They were down to the 8th at that point anyway.

I've never loved and hated a guy equally, who literally brought this city a Super Bowl.

I thought the Giants made out as well.

Ray Didinger retiring after 53 years
I had a journalism class in high school and for extra credit we could reach out to local writers and ask them to come and talk to the class about their career. I attempted to get in touch with Ray but never got a hold of him. He then retired from the Daily News later that year ('96).

In December I was home for Christmas break when, out of nowhere, I actually got a phone call from Ray apologizing for not getting back to me 8 months earlier. He was cleaning out his desk after his last day and came across a note asking him to call me back from like April.

Couldn't have been more kind and sincere and remorseful. It was maybe a 2 minute phone call but its little things like that show you what kind of person someone is. What an absolute class act and legend in this town. I'm reading his latest book right now too. Gonna miss him.

I told Didinger about my dad, and it reminded him of one last story to share. He was coming out of a Wawa, and a man with a thick accent stopped him.

“He said, ‘I was born in Nigeria. I came to this country three years ago. I settled in Philadelphia. I got a job. And my co-workers said that if you really want to be part of things and feel like you’re a part of things, you have to learn football, and you have to root for the Eagles,'” Didinger recalled. “He said, ‘But I don’t know anything about this.’ The one co-worker said, ‘Here’s what you do. On Saturdays, listen to WIP radio at 10 o’clock and listen to Ray Didinger. And then watch the Eagles game on Sunday. And when the game’s over, watch ‘Postgame Live’ and watch Ray Didinger.’ He said, ‘He’ll teach you football.’

“And while he’s having this conversation, he’s wearing an Eagles hoodie. So he’s obviously assimilated at this point. But he said, ‘So I learned more and I love the game, and now I can talk about the game with my friends at work.’ He said, ‘You taught me football.’ And he said, ‘You helped make me an American.’ And then he gave me a big hug and got in his truck and drove off. That’s when it really dawned on me that we really are touching people’s lives, aren’t we?”

Ray was great.  I found him to be the only reason to really watch Post Game Live.  Going to miss him on that.

Eagles wide receiver Devon Allen ran the 3rd fastest hurdles time ever today. Dude can fly.  Worth the shot at giving him a chance.

I remember somewhere someone said some football player had "world class speed" and some track & field snob says "they are misusing the term "world class" these football players could never compete with actual T&F athletes" and I was thinking "you don't know that - football pays much better, why wouldn't actual world class speedsters want to be wide receivers". Anyway, nice that my suspicions have been confirmed.

But isn't this guy first and foremost a T&F guy, even though he played college football? I mean the guy's 27 so he's not some rookie right out of the SEC here. I hope any shrewd move works out but I'd assume this dude is reaching for the 4th or 5th spot of receivers. Seems akin to the move they did with Jeremy Bloom, but even he was drafted right out of school.

I think they are going to try him as a return man as well.  Don't see him making the regular squad but suspect they will have him on practice squad to see if they can develop him.  Not a bad risk to take.

I was excited as a 49ers fan when he joined the team. I thought with his speed, he could excel. He had a few moments, but it never really worked out like I hoped it would.

This guy Allen played at Oregon.  He more resembles Willie Gault who had played at Tennessee than just a track guy like Nehemiah.  Not saying he will ever come close to as productive as Gault but Allen does have high level football experience.
