Why would anyone worry about Canada? They don’t have the gun nuts that you do. Pics of Christian morning shoot around or you don’t really own an AR.
Us Canadians worry about Canada - we've seen the way the USA's culture, decorum, decency have been degraded for decades now. We worry that being due north of the meth lab/insane asylum that is the USA, will lead to that devolution up here too. It's started to happen with some already. That said, trolls don't worry about shit, they just troll.

Having found it a bit difficult to feel particularly festive this holiday season, I was encourage by this message in my email inbox this morning form Melanie Griffin of the progressive organization, Third Act:
The other day, my
friend's words stopped me in my tracks. “Happy New Year!” she called
over her shoulder leaving for the holiday break. Just a month ago, this
phrase would have sent me into a funk, dreading the fate of our planet
and our democracy under a second Trump term. But as I watched her drive
off, I realized that something was different.
Something
in me is shifting, and it’s not just the holiday spirit. It is the
power of being part of a community that refuses to give up. A community
like Third Act.
Can you believe it?
I’m actually looking forward to 2025! How did that happen? What’s
changed since November 5th? All indications are clear: the
president-elect and his administration will follow through on vows to
dismantle environmental and democratic protections, and “Drill, baby,
drill.” Yet I’m optimistic about our chances to make real climate
progress next year. And here’s why.
Even in the dismal aftermath of the elections, Third Actors celebrated hard-fought wins:
We flipped three California House seats
Secured a key North Carolina Supreme Court victory
Passed bold climate ballot measures in California and Washington
Every Third Act postcard, every door knock, every phone call truly mattered (our new 2024 Impact Report is beyond inspiring)! The wins are important, and they hold the promise of a bright, people-powered future.
Our bright future is
emerging from a dark and stormy moment––in more ways than one. At our
staff retreat in late November, an epic “atmospheric river storm”
knocked the power out. Sheets of water pounded against the windows of
the rustic cabin and flames from the old stone fireplace lit the room as
small groups of staff bundled in sweaters and coats moved between
tables strewn with butcher block paper and markers. Some were in
animated conversation, some jotted ideas on the papers, and some stared
out the windows, deep in thought.
From the chaos,
themes and strategies began to take shape. A sense of resilience and
determination grounded us. Fueled by your unwavering support and
remarkable efforts, we dared to dream together. We envisioned a wave of
confident, well-equipped Third Actors working in community towards a
healthy and sustainable energy future.
The vision is within reach. I’m reminded of an old slogan, “If the people lead, eventually the leaders will follow.”

This is great to see you can put the fear and worry behind and focus on being the proud American you should be. The vision is within reach, but you will not get there sitting around screaming at the internet about Donald Trump. That's basically how I read it... Congrats and Merry Christmas!

Would you look at that little, little hand and turkey wattle? Bet Memeania needs a baster to apply the tanning cream. But that red coat screams happy holidays!

Y'all are late for my birthday (it's in late September, not freeze-yer-ass-off December). But what the hey! You showed up anyway, so lets party!
