You get a card from Royal Mail saying you've got a customs charge and how much. You go to your local sorting office or post office (for me its sorting office) or wherever it says on the card, pay the fee and they give you the parcel. If you don't pay the fee, they'll return it to sender.

Great to know I could have bought it at HMV for $10 cheaper today and I would have it in hand instead of still waiting for them to find a way to ship a DVD to Canada...

My bluray arrived yesterday in UK. I bought this version because I bought the original ltd deluxe version but the quality is awful and I ordered this new one in the hope it had been sorted.

It hasn't the quality for a lot of it is pixelated, and I'm not referring to old grainy footage.

A good test is to put on disc 2 and go straight to Thumbing My Way. Does Eddie look really blocky on yours at the start of the song? The rest of the song is also the same but this is a good place to compare.

Yes, they're all like that. You have to keep in my mind that even just a decade ago, high definition had not reached the masses yet. People were still amazed at the quality improvement gained from DVD.

From what I remember, Thumbing My Way was filmed to be streamed online. Maybe they weren't prescient enough to think about keeping the best quality footage from that shoot at the time. Three songs from that shoot made it to the Chop Suey DVD, so I'd assume the quality of those tracks is much better than TMW.

When you're converting videos that had low bitrates to HD, that's a lot of information loss to try and get back. I think in the case of TMW, too much was lost to get back.

Have to say that I am really happy they re-released this. I was never going to pay the original, or ebay costs, but its a great 3 disc set. Well worth it!

I get what you're saying but thus not what I mean... Put on your bluray Kids Are Twenty, skip straight to Do The Evolution, look at all the animated clips, it's not right, very liney/pixelated. Compare it to your Touring Band 2000 version. It's like a low quality transfer or something.

TB2000 is a DVD. Only 480p lines. Blu-Ray is 1080p lines. The DTE video was made for 480 lines. Again, you're upconverting to HD. To make up the difference, the upconversion "guesses" at what should be there to fill up the extra lines. That explains the pixelation and blockiness.

same here - the UK import dudes must have been in the xmas spirit and obviously didnt get Osbornes memo about shafting every penny of tax they can in his bitter austerity drive.

was hoping to finally get the UK sticker but maybe next time....was great to see Tenclub ship these seperately too - that helps with the duty thing even more. I ordered the dvd and blue ray and they came in seperate mailers.

Mine arrived yesterday in the UK, no import duties, unlike the "Welcome To Discovery Park" set from Brad. On a related note I also ordered the "Disintegration Loops" box set direct from the US and was thoroughly relieved to avoid import duty, that would have killed me.
