Art we like to look at

I thought it might be fun to start a thread to put up pictures of well-known or unknown art that we like.
It could be photos of outdoor art or sculpture, or images of famous paintings.

I'll start out with some colorful ones! :)

I'm understanding that this thread is for art not (necessarily) painted/done by us, right?

I came across this picture of a painting today and got lost in it for a while...

then I realized that just like in writing/performing music, or writing/reading poetry, or anything else of that nature,

that it's not so much how good you play, or how technical you can write, or how exact-to-life a picture you can paint, as much as it is the way the final art piece makes the listener/reader/beholder feel.

Rollings, that picture reminds me of a photo I have. I like it! :)

Yes, it's art that we like to look at. Most likely it is not going to be our own.

I like the one you put up too Rollings.

I didn't know the real title, my words were just being descriptive! I don't claim to be an expert on art. I just like to look at it and sometimes make it. :D

ha! Well if you just said "starry night" but didn't know that was actually the title, then you're doing pretty good, I'd say!

I'm no expert on art either, although I am pretty sure I could spot a Van Gogh or a Monet just about anywhere.

(I was just razzing you a little bit anyway, I'm sure you know :P )

I was lucky enough to be able to visit the Van Gogh museum in Amsterdam.

    That was neat
