How the World would vote in this election

So I was having a read there this morning and came across this. Why do you believe these nations would vote so overwhelmingly in favor of the incumbent?

What is it that either, we are not seeing / or the American people are not seeing?

I really do not understand how the race is so close, so I suppose this article backs it up for me.

I would imagine that with the exception, Pakistan, it would be more down to the drone strikes as opposed to them actually wanting to vote Romney.

Actually, how does that point fly with some of you?, A Muslim country where Obama is not popular, due to incursions and attacks.

Weren't some of you saying that, as he was a secret Muslim, he would be more sympathetic to these type nations?? Another hunch blown out of the water by facts and real world events.

I would think that Pakistan would appreciate that Obama has pledged more to flood relief then their own government has.

It's mainly because the rest of the world is more comfortable with the role of government in society, it's all down to the u.s's fairly unique political culture

Are you referring to the; "i need my guns to protect me from my government" crowd?

Well partly, I mean that's a very narrow stream of them but historically that sentiment has been strong, there's also a very weak welfare state because Europeans have a much stronger view of the security net, and even the right wing parties want socialised healthcare there

I'd say it's a nod to Obama about his ability to operate with other countries and their government effectively, way more than what Romney puts out there. Regarding international relations, Romney will be someone's puppet, just not sure whose puppet that will be if he's elected.

What is it about Romney that has nearly half the country voting for him though?

How can the all these stats be at such odds?

I guess the drone strikes and military presence cheese them off more than a stack of cash makes up for. Weird.

I'd comfortably say it is more than a nod.

  • Does anyone here believe that these countries want us to be strong and get stronger? Do you think they want us to protect our borders, advance our ideals, project our influence, build our military, strengthen our dollar and fly our flag with more pride than each day? Do you seriously think they wish us well and hope for us to strengthen our country? Please answer with substance and clear, logical reason!

No you're dead right, we're all against you. It's been a conspiracy from the start. Bloody Canadians with all that red in their flag, what's all that about?

Most of these countries would be considered strong allies but hey whatever.

This post embodies (and feeds) the stereotype that most Americans I know truly regret and despise.

I think this says something about America and the rest of the world.. America are the only country that don't mind a little government management.. it works for them so why not in America. Bush would have had a worse percentage around the world.

You did not answer the questions. You are all for us when you need us, but there is a certain level of anti-Americanism in the sense that most nations just want America to be one level above them, not many levels above them. Many nations want us to remain just within reach, but never too far ahead. Also, many of those nations listed would love for us to have a "wake up call". I also think some would like us to fall, altogether! You dont think that? You just think that all these nations want us to be stronger than ever? LOL Its like you and your best friend when you were growing up.....you were kinda happy for him when he could bench press 300lbs, but not so happy when he landed all the girls! Another analogy could be when we got hit on 9/11, im sure countries like Russia and China were calling us with their condolences, but had a sense of "joy" when they were hanging up the phone.

well countries like Australia etc aren't against the USA.. we believe we're a better nation then America.. the issue is no wants another Bush type president effing the world up like he did.. Obama is a much more diplomatic president. More likeable as a world leader then Romney..
