Better than the first. Third story was great.

Saw The Conjuring over the weekend in Chicago in a great movie theater. The previews looked good and it was getting pretty decent reviews so decided to see it although most of the horror films in the past 10 years looked real bad. This one was pretty good I thought. Jumped a few times and the story was pretty cool. There were some cheesy parts but yeah overall I liked it.

Also saw The Blob (remake) for the first time. That was a pretty good remake. We saw it right before Blobfest in Phoenixville, PA (where the people run out of the movie theater). They also had a couple old movies showing besides The Blob, Tarantula and Mantris (I believe).

Watched the remake of Evil Dead last night. Hmmmm was pretty bloody and gorey. I think it might have been better with more creepy, less yucky. :D wasn't too bad though.

    -Halloween
    -Dawn Of The Dead
-The Exorcist (Scared the crap out of me when I was a kid, and haven't watched it since). That is why it is on here.

But yeah lot of good ones. I have a few friends who host "First Friday Fright night in Phoenixville, PA. They show some good classic ones like Popcorn, Pumpkinhead, Poltergeist, The Warriors, Nightmare on Elm Street 3 & 4, Vampire Circus, From Dusk Til Dawn, My Bloody Valentine, Silent Night Deadly Night. This past month was Halloween III :D an d next month, Nov. 2 is Return Of The Living Dead (which I don't believe I've seen).

Last night they showed Fright Night (1985 original) which i had never seen  I know i'm lame. I enjoyed it a lot. Special effects were pretty cool, except when they turned into vampires I didn't care for their teeth/fangs. Kinda want to see the remake now.

  • Not sure if it belongs in the "Horror" thread, but I don't know where else it would go

Just watched "Best Worst Movie" about "Troll 2". The only thing that ever scared me about it when I was a kid was the mother's crazy eyes, it was a little disconcerting to see that she's actually mentally disturbed. I guess the director is too, he thinks he made a great horror movie and was surprised/angry to see that people watch it for the unintentional comedy. It was interesting, and sometimes pretty funny, but also kind of sad. All the young cast of the film seem pretty well adjusted, but I think every adult involved in that movie was off to some degree.
