Tom Atkins was an absolute stud in that film. Women were throwing themselves at him.

Then again, that was most of his films....

Halloween III was among my first Blu Ray purchases when I upgraded. Anything with Tom Atkins is guaranteed to be the shit. Even if it's just a bit part like Creepshow or Escape From New York or if he's the unlikely star and banging girls half his age like in The Fog and Halloween III. He just seems like he should be sitting in some dive bar drinking a Miller High Life, not going on all these supernatural sex adventures.

The Thing is a phenomenal film, one of Carpenters best(there is many to choose from)

I've seen the prequel. It's just ok. I wouldnt run out and see it.

When i was younger i wasn't really into the horror films. Glad i am getting into them now at that the theater i go to )which i have mentioend before) shows them in original print
    :)

It was aweome. def. one of my fav films from Carpenter (granted i have only seen a handful though). I was pretty shocked to hear there was a prequal and not a sequal (or remake) yet :))

Saw the movie "Shocker" last night in 35 mm print. It was ok. Cool concept and some cool parts but there were some very stupid parts as well. I think they could/should remake this and have Jackie Earle Haley as Horace Pinker

Good thread. See a lot of love for the 1982 'The Thing' (fun fact: in the original The Thing, 1951, the creature was played by James Arness (Marshall Dillon from Gunsmoke)) - I'll add my name to the 1982 version lovers.
The prequel wasn't bad. I liked the attention they paid to the little details so that so much of it lines up with the 1982 movie.

Saw "Let The Right One In" last night. Pretty cool Swedish vampire flick from '08. There's a US version that came out a few years later called "Let Me In" haven't seen that one but hear it's pretty much like the Swedish version.

I love the paranormal genre of horror films, not so much the "found footage" but the classic haunted house storytelling. Some of my favorites are:

    1. The Entity
    2. The Orphanage
    3. The Others
    4. The Woman in Black (TV movie from the 80's)
    5. Legend of Hell House (silly ending though)

I thought I saw a trailer for The Woman In Black recently?

Im against remakes... and Poltergeist should be left alone. No movie scared me as much as that one did. Terrified me.

But judging by the preview, it does look like they shot it pretty well,,, almost too well as it seems they just made an exact replica in 2015 and a black-haired Carol Ann
