  • I cant begin to tell you how happy I am im not driving a semi-truck, in Winter weather anymore.

Next week, when you go to Walmart to buy your families a 12 pack of Charmin toilet paper? I want you to think of the ABSOLUTE HELL that some poor truck driver went through this week so you could make that purchase.

This is one of those storms where even the truck drivers are not on the road. The NY police shut down the roads and highways near us at 9 pm last night. Ski resorts are the only happy ones in the Northeast this winter.

Surf is up! But with the wind howling at about 50mph and the water temp right around 32….. I’ll wait.

My day will consist of me watching the weather channel for the next 6 hours. Retirement is also not too glamorous.

Ya know, 6 inches of snow? We all just deal with it. 12 inches? Yeah, its a nightmare, but everyone still makes it to school and work.
But 18-24 inches, with 50mph winds?
Thats just crazy. You are not too surprised when it snows in your mountain ranges. But when NYC, Boston, and Philly are getting 18 inches of snow? Fuck fuck fuck!!!

Luckily we’ll be in the 40s this week. Unlike the last storm which stuck around for weeks.

We have had snow on the roof and on the ground since Thanksgiving. Piles in the parking lots ten feet high. Dump trucks and front loaders have been brought in to remove snow. Worst winter in 30 years and this storm is a doozy. I do not mind it though. I only mind my heating bills this winter which have averaged $500 a month since November. And we have a small place!

1850 sq feet and getting hammered by Con Ed. We had months of temps below 30 degrees this winter. And many weeks below 20 in December and January. My bills for December and January were $700.  Each. I am tempted to tell them to fuck off.

That’s crazy I’d have to tally up between the 4 cords of wood and oil that I’ve ordered here on Long Island I’m sure it’s up there but not 500$ a month, my house up in Vermont is being sustained by the renters fees we might not make a lot of money but we are not paying out of our budget to keep the house going!

This is my fire escape right now. But it is still coming down like crazy. I am going to try to slog my way over to the gym in a few hours. It’s only 3 blocks away. I will take more photos once I get out there. It so pretty.

I call it the Westchester tax. They charge us more because of where we live. They think we have more disposable income so they charge us more. If I lived 50 miles north my bill would be much less.
