Good work with the thread. Cheers for posting some info Pepe.
Some more info: Wenceslas Square (vaclavske namesti) is the long "boulevard" starting from the National museum. Looking from the museum down, vodickova is about half way down on the left hand side as you shouldd see from the map.
To get to Wenceslas square get the metro, line red, to museum. Please people, it is still slightly tourist season and you WILL look like a tourist...so watch your bags and wallets because Prague is hardcore for pickpockets and the "they wont get me mentality' is bullshit. They work in packs. Anyway, enough of the nagativity....Prague (if you havent been) will blow your mind.
Another point, don't get a taxi from the Airport! You'll get ripped off and the bus to the nearest metro is (was in 2005) 14 Korun per person. About 30p or close. When you get out of arrivals, go to the travel desk possible marked dpp, to get tickets. If you are staying for a while, buy a pass for 3 days etc as you will use it. Obviously, you will need to get some Czech Korun before you arrive unless they accept other currencies but i doubt it.
The bus will take you to the end stop of the green line, dejvicka. From there you can follow the simple metro map (3 lines) to get to any metro stop efficiently and thus your hotel etc.

I arrive in Prague at 21.30, how long does the bus take to get to Dejvicka and roughly how long from there to Stroupznickeho 21 Prague 5 (my hotel).
Maybe it will be better to get a taxi (around 450K)?
Anyone else arriving around 21.30...possible taxi share?

Ok man, you're sussed! The journey to metro stop "dejvicka" is only 30 mins tops! Then when you are there you get the metro (if you wait longer than 10mins i'll be shocked) to the stop "mustek". This is where the yellow and green lines cross. Follow the signs for the yellow line and get on it going in direction "Zlicin". Get off only 3 stops later at "Andel" and your hotel is literally behind the station!
The ticket you buy at the Airport will do you the entire journey!!! 30p!!!
I strongly advise against getting a taxi. They say 450 Czk but if you got it for 600 id be surprised. For you, it will still seem cheap compared to UK prices but its a shame to let them get away with it. Consider the metro price then look at the taxi price to see just how much they are hitting you for!
I'll be probably at 1pm on thursday in Prague but I can't be on this wonderful meeting at 21:00 :( Additional question: there will be no meeting after the show ? Many warm greetings for those who I'll never meet ,have an amazing time ,, no words.
We'll be going to a club after the concert and anyone who wants to go is welcome to do so. Actually, we will be staying in the club until the end and then getting the train to Berlin about 7am in the morning haha.
I know the ABC hostel, just next to Wenceslas square?
The club, Karlovy Lazne is next to Charles Bridge. Five floors, all different music, no strictly rock floor but there is a floor (that is always the most poplar) that plays the usual cheesy stuff which is brilliant! You always get the usual cheesy rock stuff!
Guys what do you think of a last minute booking for the thursday night? Im just worried that the bar may already be kinda busy then gradually from 9pm onwards about 30+ of us are gonna turn up?
Just a thought.
P.S. I will be offline from wednesday night as i am leaving early thursday morning.

Haha, cheers man!! Your wiser than i thought haha.
Yeah, from 14:00 in the bar near Wenceslas square.
I forgot to mention folks: The bar is in a sort of arcade with a cinema and shops (very beautiful) so you go in and the door down into the basement bar is only a few yards on the left.
Hahahaha, shit! I just posted under Scotinamsterdam!! He was still signed into the computer. One of the few drawbacks of having a PJ fan as a flatmate.

Just asking but who was the one wearing a kilt in Antwerp??? Verry tall guy and i thought he had long dreads...just curiuos...LOL
Haha, there were two wearing a kilt in Antwerp. We wear them to all the gigs we go to but im sure you mean my buddy. He posted just before you: Scotinamsterdam.
It depends where you go as always. If you're dumb enough to sit in a toursit bar (which im sure youre not) you will pay british prices.
However, in a proper Czech bar, off the beaten path a beer should cost no more 35Czk and that should be for a Pilsner (the best lager). You should be able to get a beer for 25Czk no bother.
Spirits are a bit cheaper than in UK, say about £1.30 for a JD but that is a 40ml measure as is stanndard in Czech Rep.
Cocktails are also cheaper and a mojito in the meetup bar is about £2 (90Czk) max if i remember.
