Not to the Dolphins. That was their lowest rushing total ever. But such futility has happened several times before around the league. Dozens of teams have rushed for negative yards in a game over the years. The record for fewest rushing yards in a game is -53 by the 1943 Lions.

Anyway, this team sucks and is going nowhere. They're only a game out of the wildcard...which manipulates my brain into thinking they can make the playoffs. But they can't. The teams we're competing with (Jets, Ravens, Titans, Browns, Chargers) are all better than us. Especially the Jets. They're way better than us. Kills me to say that...but hell....it's been the case for the past four years so whatever.

Would Miami be interested in trading a #1 pick for Trent Richardson? :P

  • I'm worried about PJFAN13. Where is he? Has he sunk into a deep depression over the current state of the Fish? I knew that 3-0 start wouldn't be healthy for him. Got the poor guy's hopes up. The three game slide, the bizarre Incognito/Martin thing, and the latest prime-time embarrassment was a nice reality check for me but it might have damaged PJFAN13. He's a more optimistic Dolphins fan than I am. He thinks they can someday win the Super Bowl. I think they provide me with tons of material for my hacky Sunday afternoon stand-up routine.

LOL - love ya, Ledbetterman10... strangely, I'm not depressed. I'm more embarrassed then anything. This team just finds new ways to twist the dagger man...I was very nervous going into the TB game, the fact we lost it doesn't surprise me a bit. In fact, I'm shocked we weren't shellacked New Orleans style. Really. With that ridiculous distraction, no Oline and horrible play calling, we were bound to lose.
We don't have any one thing we do well outside of punting. I like Tannehill, but he's average and learning. O-Line blows. Our once proud and stout run D has disappeared. Our corners don't stay healthy, outside of Wake nobody sets the edge. LB's are mediocre at best & certainly not an upgrade over Dansby & Burnett.
It's embarassing. We are a game back mathematically of the playoff race, with 2 games against the Jets, rematch with Bills, rematch with Pats, Carolina, Pitt and SD on tap. After the past two weeks of O-Line decimation, people working in fear, the team could win every game but then what? 37-3 playoff loss??? No thanks.
Blow it up. Ross needs to sell, to a FAN with coin who will buy the best GM, coaching staff and smart football people. Clean house. Build an Oline. I dunno...
That being said, I love our chances Sunday against the Chargers...the season starts for REAL on Sunda...
    Farts..

While Armando does a nice job at times, he really blew this Pouncey thing over the last few days.
Pouncey's barber "tweeted" that Mike is tuff and even got his hair cut in a hospital bed Sat morn. Nobody in Miami reported it. I emailed Armando about after I heard it and he gave me a "check my twitter timeline, he's playing" snarky response.
Lo and behold he's out today.
    WTF?
These reporters sometimes blow my mind.

You realize 3 weeks ago we move Martin over to RT, sign a done-zo McKinnie and bench Clabo only to move him back 6 days later when Martin quits...a few days after that Incognito is suspended, a week later Yeatman tears ACL done-zo and now Pouncey misses today due to kidney/gallbladder/internal organ pain.

Whiskey. Tango. Foxtrot. OLINE is everything. Without one you are doomed. Healthy ours sucked. Now = Lingerie Arena League at best. FUNGOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOL     :cry::cry:

Ryan Tannehill could literally be maimed today.

Yeah next Sunday will be tough. I hope more people show up to the game. I hope they will still be in the hunt come Dec. 15 against NE. I got tickets and want to see a meaningful game.
  • I knew we were done when they made the FG before half. It was a rerun. What? You never saw this episode of the Miami Dolphins before? The one where they get an early lead and try to hold onto it for dear life but eventually the defense has to succumb. They air the episode like four times a season.

    Last 8 weeks (2 months) = 2-6
    Can't run it consistently
Can't stop the run in big spots
    Can't finish games
Only team to not score over 27 pts this year
Something weird happens with this team at the end of halves and beginning of 3rd quarters...
Coaching isn't great, sadly. I like Philbin as a person. Not sure he survives. Sherman is a lousy playcaller.
The Dolphins next loss ends their season for sure (alive at 5-6 is somewhat of a joke).
    Beat the Jets!!!!

I wouldn't mind losing Philbin. Let's face it, how is this team any different than any of Sparano's 7-9 teams? With seemingly more talent, they still manage to lose in the same tired old ways. Home losses to shitty teams (Buffalo), close-but-no-cigar efforts against sure-fire playoff teams (New England, Carolina), blow-out loss in prime-time to a great team (New Orleans). It's the same old shit. I saw a stat that said Miami has the most losses of 7 points or less over the past 4 years. That includes Sparano and Phlbin and it's very telling. We've always been "in" games against top teams. 2009 against the Saints, 2010 against soon-to-be-AFC champion Steelers, the game later that year when we beat the soon-to-be-world champion Packers on the road. On very rare occasions we pull out those close ones, but it doesn't happen as nearly often as it should and that's on coaching.

For better or worse, I want a coach that has had success and I know what I'm getting with him. Jon Gruden and Bill Cowher haven't coached in years. Maybe they'd suck if they were hired by Miami. But at least I know who they are and what they do. I'd love one of those guys. Saban? Cameron? Sparano? Philbin? What have any of these guys ever fucking done? I'm sick of this team "settling" for crap. This guy I work with is a Panthers fan and he was giving me the business about last week's game. And after listening to my lamentations, he noted "there's nothing worse in the NFL then when you're team is mediocre. Either suck or be good." My God he hit the nail on the head. This franchise is the very personification of "mediocre" and has been for about 20 years now. It's the monotonous mediocrity that sucks the life out of me. If they sucked every year like the Browns I'd have a laugh, if they contended every year like the Patriots I'd throw a party, but instead they're precisely in between. If you added the Patriots and Browns and divided by 2, you'd have the Dolphins.

Can't argue with anything you said. Cowher & Gruden have both won Super Bowls, are pretty good leaders of men and took over franchises that were mediocre and got them back to prominence.
Ledbetterman10 for GM of the Dolphins!!!
Philbin seems to be a knowledgeable football guy. I think this years version of poo is hurt by a weak OL, poor LB's, rookie kicker and lack of a consistent running game. Can someone coach that? I dunno. I think this croney-ism with Sherman and Turner hurts this squad for sure.
I hope we beat the Jets.

  • I lucked my way into tickets at the LIV suite for the Panthers game... bottle service, etc... it was hilarious. But this team is truly sad to watch. From the standpoint of the final score, the Dolphins are so close, but really, they're not. Can't believe the Fins punted with 4 minutes left in the game on 4th and 2. Get 2 yards and YOU WIN THE GAME. I dunno, it's frustrating. Personally, I like Philbin... but if Belichick is coaching this team, the Fins are 8-3 right now.

Despite all of this, the Fins are still tied for the 6th playoff spot... need to focus on winning and hope for some Ravens losses.

    Lastly, FUCK THE JETS.

I would LOVE to see my beloved Fins win a cold-weather, meaningful game in December in Pittsburgh today. They haven't there since 1990? Wow.
Past performances in the last decade tend to make one believe we might lose a heart-breaker on the road today, but gosh dang it, call me Kool-Aid kid, I think we actually beat THIS Steelers team (banged up Oline, can't stop the run that well), in a cold weather road game with playoff implications.
    LET'S GO MIAMI

  • That was too close for comfort. We kinda deserved for Brown to take that final play to the house. But I'll sure as hell take the win. Good job by Tannehill bouncing back after that horrible pick-6. And Charles Clay is a beast. Good thing I didn't start him in fantasy.

And holy shit...fuck the Minnesota Vikings for blowing that game against Baltimore. That was pathetic.

And holy shit...fuck the officials for giving the Patriots that bullshit pass interference call that put them down to the 1-yard line. Total bullshit.

    Waaaay to close for comfort
Tannehill bounced back well and Clay was clutch
Big Ben's lateral NEVER would have been allowed as it was a forward pass, but I was almost in tears when Brown crossed that goal-line.
Vikings only win a few games all year and those final minutes showed you why. They are horrible.
Horrible is also a description for the refs who gifted the Pats on one of the worst PI calls in the history of PI calls.
We won a game today against a very good Rothlisberger and a D that came to play.
Our D bent all afternoon and made me nervous, but Wake and Co. sure woke up and handled biz at the end.
Hell of a win. Going into mid-Dec with a shot at the 6th seed = all you can ask for. 3 AFC East games in a row to handle.
    Go Fins.

  • What a game. I couldn't believe the end there but isn't ironic that Brown steps out and with the whole sideline debacle Tomlin had all week. Tough game next with NE coming down to the stadium formerly known as Joe Robbie. I am hoping for a packed house with Dolfans.
