He lied, so does everyone else, he was called out on it, get over it. Again, the facts confirm that he was one of the better presidents in your country.
Yeah, I never condemned nor approved of Clinton's extra-marital sexual affairs- it was non of my business and I didn't care. And so what what if he lied about it- that was his way of saying "fuck off- in the big picture, this isn't important". I always kind of thought the whole obsession with Clinton's sexual affairs was more a reflection of the perversion of the American public than of Clinton.
to the people who elected him, who trusted him?
Did you have to explain his actions to young children?
I did...
Did you feel anything at all for his wife and young girl?
Great father, great husband, great President... no he was not.
He is all about himself in more ways than one.
Funny stuffI catch hell for trying to understand a red and the blues obviously cover
the very bad choices of another blue ... go figure :fp:0 -

I don't think my husband would ever have the opportunity to share the details of his blow jobs on TV, but if he does, he better share them in all their glorious details
That was the point for me Clinton embarrassed not only America but his family horribly.
All I could think of was Hilary and his daughters. True character shows there.
I agree that it must have been very difficult for Hilary and Chelsea. Difficult enough to deal with this in private, but to have it turned into a political issue and the entire world talking about it? Devastating I'm sure. I wonder if that's why he lied initially - perhaps for selfish reasons, perhaps to protect them, perhaps not thinking it had any governmental relevance. I can only guess at his motivations, but I think it demonstrates the efforts some will exert simply to divide. Blow jobs, marathons....ridiculous waste of time.
this I can very much relate to.
For me, after his true colors were shown in our personal life,
I know his motives because he had shown himself to be selfish greedy
and then got caught being a classic jerk to his family and country.
He was covering his own sorry ass.
What bothers me the most is his demeanor... mild, caring, thoughtful...
while sticking a knife in the back of 93 business owners and being unfaithful to his family.0 -
A man of extremely poor *traditional* values,
but an unquestionably great global geo-political strategist (for Team "One World", that is).

Strange game you yanks play. Get all bent out of shape, fire and brimstone over an extra marital blow job, but America Fuck Yeah it up to an Expendables style approach to international relations
and the humiliation of his wife and daughters... :wtf:
and the American people.
Massively self centered ...greedy
and if you think a President, one man starts a war, better think again....
but one man came here and condemned my business property along with 92 other
small businesses... yeah he was for small business... what a crock.
He was a land developer making billions, with the guise of being for the people
If you think one man starts a blow job, better think again. See I can do it too...

Ask the 93 small business owners in Atlanta who had their businesses condemned
they might not agree. You have no idea the hardships this caused for all of us because
he is greedy.
And no not everyone lies, I don't.
There is a huge difference between a lie and being mistaken, uninformed,
even twisting truths for one's agenda or giving half truths.
Clinton's was a down right blantant lie to the people who trusted him,
given on TV for all to see including even our small children in our country :?
and he did so to protect his own ass. He is a horrible example of a man.
Just like when he came here, he did so for his own wallet, not the good of Americans.[/quote]
Your opinion is based on just that though Pandora - Opinion, based on your experience.
You say I have no idea of the hardships he caused, it seems as though you refuse to accept all the good that he has done aswell, so you are equally blind to the point.
And again, yes he did lie, and it was awful, and he was called out on it. Bush continues to lie with respect to his reasoning for war. And know I do not think one man starts a war, but as one man, he sure did champion it.
Explaining to children that Clinton lied about his sexual affairs, or trying to understand the impact it must have had on his family, yeah not a great conversation. Me personally I'd have a much harder time trying to explain to my kids why my neighbours kid has come home in a box, sent out to fight a war on false assertions and that the reason people are flying planes into buildings is because of what is being done in my name abroad.
But that's how I rationalise things in life. And yeah I can admit to lying, I always figured most could.0 -

What good did he do?
He takes credit for much that had nothing to do with him. That others put into motion.
Do you know the bad he did?
Our foreign affairs include helping those less fortunate, we get tangled up in many wars.
we make wars and will probably continue to for many reasons. We are not alone.
Death for me, however it comes, is a chance for spiritual growth in one's children.
Accepting and knowing we have a path and an afterlife. It is a talk that is uplifting.
Having a disloyal President lie about sex acts to your children
was complicated but it brought the subject of fidelity, trust, integrity,
morals which also brought personal growth. It brought disappointment too.
I am glad you can admit to lying that is important but honesty
is far more important in life.0 -

I am actually stunned with the ease of which you speak about these mass killings that your government sanctioned and yet feel compelled to throw a sex act / and a man's honesty or lack there of to the forefront of national implications, i really am stunned.
How and ever, the facts are there that Clinton presided over some of the more prosperus years in your nation. I can freely admit the man did wrong, however you seem incapable of giving him any credit. Your perspective seems to be completly blinkered, and given your tone which seems to be one of yoda like enlightendment, seems quite ironic.
You have done nothing but offer up your perspective and attempt to wrap it up as fact. Fact is; Clinton was a successful president, the facts are a plenty, and should you require, I shall supply some.
Your opinion of the man, and his actual record are 2 different things.
"Accepting and knowing we have an afterlife" is a prime example of this - your opinion, not mine.0 -

research please, little to do with Clinton actually though he takes credit.
I do not ever speak lightly of war nor feel lightly about lives taken.
Again what don't you get? Yes, this is my opinion of Clinton never denied that
and you have yours.
I was not asking you to have mine... are you asking me to have yours?...
not gonna happen.
I was also not trying to have you understand an afterlife because clearly you do not
accept this.
Again must I put after every paragraph in my opinion?
It should go without saying.
We will agree to disagree on this man...
he is not the man people think he is....
in my opinion0 -
When I think of Clinton one of the last things that comes to mind is getting blown in the oval office. We have a holiday for MLK and he was a huge cheater. And also had young kids. Nobody seems to disregard the good things he did just because he couldn't keep it in his pants. This show, another show, a show here and a show there.0

Pandora,
You seem to think Clinton deserves no credit for the prosperous economy we had with him. At the same time you heap a lot of blame on Obama for the last 4 years. Please explain. This show, another show, a show here and a show there.0 -

Remember now, that's your opinion, which from time to time, does not always marry up with fact. Another explanation could be that, given the current state of the nation, a lot needed to get said. Not saying it as fact, just merely offering up another perspective, which is important in debates like this.0 -

I love how the right is coming out complaining about how long he spoke...
Two thoughts on that:
1) Change the channel if it's too long
2) We live in a society where Honey Boo Boo was on TV for like 8 hours last night... I think I'm ok with a former President talking for 45 minutes about how he views the future of our government. My whole life
was like a picture
of a sunny day

I needed something pretty and amazing last evening to cure a heavy heart.
And I am not a red should I assume as you did that you are a blue...
so of course you can not see the man for who he is.

Based on your comments for a while, I have assumed that you lean towards republican. And I too was an adult for the Clinton years. I would consider the best economic years in my lifetime as something a little prettier than the other administrations I've experienced.
And I loved the condescending comment about "so of course you can not see the man for who he is"... Yes, Pandora, only your view of a person is the correct one. Why don't you just give your opinions of both Presidential and Vice Presidential candidates now, so we can all stop discussing them until Nov 6th?My whole life

It is my opinion those of strict party line vote by party,
why I assumed as you did that you are a blue.
Why I say if you are a blue you can not see the man for who he is,
just common sense, human nature supporting your own teammate.
You didn't own one of 93 small businesses working night and day prospering through
sweat here in Atlanta.
the 93 businesses that were condemned so Clinton
and his rich buds could buy up land and make billions.
What he did for personal monetary gain changed the lives of thousands here,
not for the good.
But I'm glad because you were doing great during that time, you can disregard
what he directly did to other Americans. I can not because I shared the small room
with others like myself trying to fight it, succumbing to our loss and sharing the tears
at the realization there was no fight. He held all the power.0 -
