I agree that it must have been very difficult for Hilary and Chelsea. Difficult enough to deal with this in private, but to have it turned into a political issue and the entire world talking about it? Devastating I'm sure. I wonder if that's why he lied initially - perhaps for selfish reasons, perhaps to protect them, perhaps not thinking it had any governmental relevance. I can only guess at his motivations, but I think it demonstrates the efforts some will exert simply to divide. Blow jobs, marathons....ridiculous waste of time.

Yeah, I never condemned nor approved of Clinton's extra-marital sexual affairs- it was non of my business and I didn't care. And so what what if he lied about it- that was his way of saying "fuck off- in the big picture, this isn't important". I always kind of thought the whole obsession with Clinton's sexual affairs was more a reflection of the perversion of the American public than of Clinton.

And again, yes he did lie, and it was awful, and he was called out on it. Bush continues to lie with respect to his reasoning for war. And know I do not think one man starts a war, but as one man, he sure did champion it.
Explaining to children that Clinton lied about his sexual affairs, or trying to understand the impact it must have had on his family, yeah not a great conversation. Me personally I'd have a much harder time trying to explain to my kids why my neighbours kid has come home in a box, sent out to fight a war on false assertions and that the reason people are flying planes into buildings is because of what is being done in my name abroad.
But that's how I rationalise things in life. And yeah I can admit to lying, I always figured most could.
