I thought about that too but it looked like Alex Smith was also going to be out so just too much unknown there for me with 2 backup QBs playing each other.

I had forgotten about Alex Smith; glad the backup played well! I'm on holidays so I made my picks in haste. I didn't do any of my normal things when making my picks, like reading the injury report.

My initial gut instinct was to take Browns to beat the spread, but I took the Cowboys because I WANTED them to kick ass. So I picked with my heart, not with my gut and it cost me.

he was a great man whose family loved him very much

the korean war almost prevented him from meeting my mother and raising 6 children together

but he was a survivor

he was awarded 2 purple hearts for his service

F Me In The Brain

Eric, my most sincere condolences to you and your family. Lost my dad at 66 and 3 years later it still is something I think about every day....but I do it (almost always) with a big smile on my face.
Grieve with your family and share many of the great stories you all have to tell about him.

'Given to Fly' has never been the same song to me since my dad died and I hope that you can find something special like that song which will make you feel so much of your father even years later.

I hope that being together with family is very helpful to you all, will be thinking of you.
