Do insurance companies not pay out more money to an estate who has spousal benefits? well, that would depend entirely on what that particular policy pays out as a death benefit. Now wouldnt it. No matter if was a single or a joint policy.

Besides its only another 4% of the population right? How many of those would actually get married. or want to? or find that someone. and not have them leave them for someone or something else?

He was unable to work or care for himself and I was given the time off of work so I could stay home, cook for him, pick him up out of bed and get him to the bathroom and shower him. Had he not had me, his insurance would have covered home care at an extremely high rate, my rate was "free.")

Btw... Had he been unconscious or died in the accident, legally nobody would even be obligated to call me and tell me and I wouldn't have any legal rights over his money or his belongings. I'd be a legal stranger.

Not sure how keeping these protections from us "supports traditional marriage," but it sure does make the Brian Browns of the world feel superior.

My ex-hairdresser is going through something similar with his husband; I feel for them. It shouldn't be such an arduous and seemingly-futile process.

As to the the legal aspect, can he not assign you power of attorney and vice versa? Draw up a will?

Hmmm...it is only four percent of the population (at best estimate actually)...so I wonder why the Dems base so much of what they do concerning them? Makes one think. Perhaps they are just trying to evade real issues that impact 100% of the population.


And also as far as the 4% question...if it impacts my wallet at all and it doesn't benefit me...I don;t care about it to be quite frank. We all have a voice in this country and let evryone;s be heard...but the majority will and always has ruled.

I don't get to vote for senators and house members in any state but my own. Not much I can do to change the system when our country is run by a corrupt congress.

There are many that would argue the fact that gay marriage would further society to be quite frank and their beliefs are no less valid or passionate than anyone who is for gay marriage. Me personally...I don't give a shit. I only worry about what will impact my wallet.
