I don't think so. I wish one of them did. If I were there, I would have asked him.

"Red lines don't lead to war, red lines prevent war," he said. "Nothing could imperil the world more than a nuclear-armed Iran."

Netanyahu said Iran had completed the first stage of uranium enrichment.

"Iran is 70 percent of the way there and ... well into the second stage. By next summer, at current enrichment rates, they will have finished the medium enrichment and move on to the final stage," Netanyahu said. "From there it is only a few more weeks before they have enriched enough for a bomb."

Netanyahu has repeatedly argued that time is running out to stop the Islamic Republic from becoming a nuclear power and the threat of force must be seriously considered.

"I believe that faced with a clear red line, Iran will back down — and it will give more time for sanctions and diplomacy," the Israeli prime minister said.

anyone who thinks sanctions and the like will have efficacy AFTER Iran is nuke capable has some thinking to do...
Bibi: if you're so worried about Iran getting a nuke, why don't you attack them since you want to so bad? What do you need us for?

    ^^

he needs us because if he attacks iran his neighbors will attack israel and israel is not equipped to wage a multifront war. so israel needs its "easy to manipulate", "lapdog" to protect it.

i say if you talk shit and threaten war and then start one, you are on your own.

Romney: Military strike on Iran may be unnecessary

BOSTON — Mitt Romney says he doesn't believe military action will be necessary to prevent Iran from obtaining nuclear weapons.

The Republican presidential nominee says he discussed the issue with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu by telephone Friday afternoon. [WHY???] Romney later told reporters traveling with him that it's unclear whether there is any difference between their so-called "red lines" on when launching military action against Iran would be appropriate.

Romney says he can't completely take the military option off the table because Iran needs to take the threat seriously. But he says he does not believe force will ultimately be needed.

Netanyahu argues that an attack on Iran's nuclear facilities may be the only answer.

President Barack Obama also spoke to Netanyahu on Friday.

NEW YORK (Reuters) - Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad on Monday disregarded a U.N. warning to avoid incendiary rhetoric and declared ahead of the annual General Assembly session that Israel has no roots in the Middle East and would be "eliminated."

"We don't even count them as any part of any equation for Iran. During a historical phase, they represent minimal disturbances that come into the picture and are then eliminated," Ahmadinejad added.

So he didn't say that Israel would be eliminated then. He said that "During a historical phase, they represent minimal disturbances that come into the picture and are then eliminated". Not quite the same thing as saying that Israel would be eliminated. But then I suppose you can twist anything to suit your agenda. Though it is strange how they only quoted one word in the first paragraph, and then posted the full sentence later which completely contradicts the original paragraph. Maybe they were counting on their readers having very short attention spans and not making it past the first few lines?

I think Iran just might have a bit of an uprising. they need new leadership and that would be a good thing.

Iran's rial has lost nearly 40 percent of its value against the U.S. dollar in the past week. The rate Thursday — about 32,000 rials for the dollar — was a bit higher than the record low earlier this week.

JERUSALEM (AP) — A lawmaker from the Israeli prime minister's party is in the United States ahead of the presidential election and has said that President Barack Obama has "not been a friend of Israel."

Danny Danon, chairman of Likud's international outreach branch, said in Chicago on Tuesday that Obama's policies have been "catastrophic."

Danon said he will also travel to Florida and New York to promote his new book and to meet with Republican and Democratic leaders.

He says he is not interfering in the presidential race but merely stating his personal opinion. He has previously praised Mitt Romney.

But his comments could be embarrassing to Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, who has been trying to shed accusations that he favors his longtime friend Romney in the race for the White House.
