it was neat seeing how happy Cubs fans were. It's cool to see teams that haven't won in a long time (or like ever) look so happy as opposed to certain teams and fan bases that it's almost passe to win. good to see.

still only 1/3 of the way there though. still need 8 more for the ultimate. good luck.

4 more wins. I just want 4 more. I just want to be able to sit with my father, and watch a World Series game, that the CUBS are a part of.

Congrats Scubby fans. Gonna be a fun rivalry for years to come. Itll be quite the clash when these guys can go head to head at full strength. Injuries just took too much from us throughout the year and into the postseason and you guys got hot as hell.

I still think Maddons a schmuck and a little overrated, but you guys got some players that would be pretty easy to pull for if not for the hat on their heads.

With good reason..we have won what 3 playoff series in our lifetime?? I have been angry as well..and I did not see this type of success this soon with this new regime. I'm having a blast..So happy for the city..the old timers and younglings..Trying to keep this all in perspective that we have only won a playoff series and we have a lot more work to do..But it's hard this team seems magical and destined for glory.

Why a schmuck and overrated?? He as made all the right moves this post season and most of his career. Gets the best out of his players..

Little too cutesy for me and he does a lot of the same shit that people hated Larussa for. As a Cards fan, when Larussa would do it I'd roll my eyes and can understand a lot of the hate that came his way.

He's gotten production, but he's also had a ton of talent and never really won anything of consequence. I don't think the Cubs have improved much over what they could've been with Renteria....add a Kris Bryant to an already loaded and improving everyday lineup and a pitcher pulling off a historic run and that adds up to a lot of extra wins.

Not saying he's a slouch, just a little overhyped. Somebody said it on the telecast las night, but he does an amazing when things are going well. Keeping things loose and fun. He hasn't really had to manage much at all this postseason.

  • The last week or so has just been FANTASTIC, in my little world. Hearing from all my friends, who are just as excited as me. We grew up in Wrigley. Wrigley is our neighborhood. We all hopped on the bus as kids, paid are $2, and sat in the grandstands. Its been a great week, and a great year so far. Just give me 4 more wins.

Friends of mine did a rooftop yesterday. Friend of ours runs one of the rooftops. $100 all you can eat and drink. I have a feeling my buddies had spent their $100 in booze, by the time the National Anthem was sung! Hahaha

  • Im sitting here at home right now, watching yesterdays game, on MLB. Its pretty fucking CLASSIC watching Lackeys reaction after, (A.) He gives up the single to our pitcher, and then (B.) He gives up the HR. to Baez on the very next pitch.

    Lackey was LIVID!

I understand you wanting just for 4 more..to share that experience with your pops is priceless..For me we are so close..with such a good team..I cant help but feel the urgency to get it done now with a title..The kids will be expected to win next year and the pressure will mount..They are loose now without a care..No guarantees in the years to come. Lets do it now!!!

I have mentioned here over the years, the relationship between myself, my father, and the Cubs. Many fond memories of going to the games with dad, paying the nuns on Grace Ave. for parking, and going to the games. But there has always been heartache in the end. 1984 was a disaster. 2003 was a disaster. As my father ages, and his health has turned south over the last few years, I can only hope that we will be able to sit back in my childhood home, order our Lou Malnatis pizza, and watch a Cubs World Series together.

    4 more wins.

1984 will always be "THE DISASTER", as far as Cubs teams are concerned, in my eyes. That team was magical, that summer at Wrigley was magical. Then it all fell apart in San Diego. I had never seen my father so upset. He was a mess. So was I.

And I tell you what. If the Cubs make it to the World Series, I hope Steve Bartman throws out the 1st pitch. I hope they give that poor guy a lifetime pass to all Cubs games. I hope he is given a World Series ring. What the Cubs, and they fans did, to ruin that poor guys life, still bothers the Holy Hell out of me, to this day. To use that poor guy as a scapegoat in 2003, was despicable.

The last week or so has just been FANTASTIC, in my little world.

Hahaha

Nice...just checked the rooftops for NLCS..starting at $260..

I understand you wanting just for 4 more..to share that experience with your pops is priceless..For me we are so close..with such a good team..I cant help but feel the urgency to get it done now with a title..No guarantees in the years to come.

Just get us to the dance!
No I get it..I sincerely understand where your coming from. I have similar memories with my dad who has passed..This is so exciting..I'm really savoring watching these games with my boys.

Don't forget about 1989..That was a solid squad as well!!!

1984..Running home from grade school to see Sutcliff pitch a gem and hit one out of the park in a game 1 rout..remember like it was yesterday. I also remember the debacle in san diego..durham error..steve garvey homer...yea a disaster to say the least!!

Agreed on Bartman..I thought I have heard the club has reached out to him in past in some fashion but he wants nothing to do with it..I could be wrong...

I honestly think (or at the very least, hope) most Cubs fans have forgiven Bartman by now, if not years ago. That poor guy had 100% of every right to catch that foul ball. It was in the stands, out of play. And I still contend that had Alou not reacted the way he did, it would have just been a typical foul ball and no one would ever know the name Steve Bartman.

"Sure-handed" Alex Gonzalez, on the other hand, fuck that guy with a sideways broom stick!

I became a fan in 1986, so I was spared this disappointment but I have seen documentaries on it.
    Have mercy on us, please!!!

as for Bartman, unfortunately most fans don't feel like you Speedy. I don't know if there is enough security in Chicago to get him in and out safely. as and aside: I could've sworn I saw him in the Chik-Fila parking lot last Saturday. It was weird. guy looked just like him with the frown and everything.
