I’ve always defended Strop as he has been our best reliever over the past 5 seasons. But he sucks so far this season. It’s time to sign a real god damn closer and let him be the setup guy.

I don’t believe in paying for “closers.” just find a guy on your staff.

Okay, so everyone who reads this has no doubt, by now, heard about the fan that was banned for his hand gesture. Now, I guess it's hard to say because I'm a white male but there is no doubt in my mind that he was playing the "circle game". I've played it. Coworkers (of all races) at every job I've worked have done it. Softball teammates and competitors. Maybe part of my anger comes from knowing that I could have received the same lifetime ban/lost my job/been labeled for life as a racist for the same thing...the most harmless thing. Today, yes, it is certainly much more widely known issue and I know not to do it. But a week ago, I would think a VERY small percentage of people would have known it was officially a racist symbol.

I guess it just blew my mind that the Cubs would give a guy a lifetime ban for it on the same day they let Addison Russell back to the team after his 40 game domestic violence suspension.

Anyhow...fast forward to the first pitch in the bottom of the 1st of today's game. J-Hey hits one off the wall and gets a triple. Here he is sliding into 3rd.....a week or so after Russell is forgiven for his domestic violence and Theo and Co. lifetime ban a guy for his "disgusting and egregious" behavior of making an "okay" sign in what was clearly, in my mind, a game.
