We're in purgatory right now. The Rox and Dodgers will beat each other up, the Cards can sweep us, and if we win the other two series have to win their other two, and have no chance at the Cubs. Just win a few games and hope for magic is it. Enjoy your damn NL Central title damn it. Feckin' cubs.

Sort of explains a lot.  The guy hasn't been right at the plate since this all came to light last year.  Should have traded his ass if there's real facts behind this.  Doesn't seem so much like just a cheating thing now, though - and there won't be any takers.

Placed on administrative leave by MLB. Rizzo probably shouldn't be saying tone-deaf things in interviews. Cubs relations should probably tell these guys not to discuss the issue with the media.

It would be an interesting stat to research, but Quintana has to be up there in HR allowed per innings pitched. He gives up so many bombs.

Yeah, it's all kind of odd. I mean when the story first broke last year, Melissa's friend spilled the beans on this. Russell missed some time and all that, but she wouldn't cooperate with MLB investigators and he came back.

Now that the divorce is final (August 30th) she is coming out with this herself. Something about this just stinks to me. I hope things are able to work themselves out positively.

I hate to say it, but it’s time to put him on the shelf and get him better for next year. Play Bote at 3rd. Bryant has not been himself since the beginning of the season.

He hasn't been.  If he didn't have so much swing and miss in his game, it wouldn't be as noticeable - but it seems that has made the injury look worse from a performance stand point.  I'm not sure we should shut him down.  The threat of his long ball game is a minute fuck for the opposing pitcher.  I'd like to see him bumped to the 5 spot between Baez and Schwarber.  He's a more dangerous 5 than he is a 2 or 3 at this point.
