One thing though...it appears no alcohol is allowed in these parks.

    I'm out.

You know, you don't need alcohol to have a good time. Just the company of good people exchanging stories and bonding should be enough. Perhaps you guys could have a poetry reading and cook smores?

I think our only option is a private campground. Both IN and MI state parks and national ones appear to have this policy. Some sites say it is strictly enforced but I guess only those that have been there and done that could tell us for sure.

i saw one in west central that allowed it...i think it was state...forget the name now...

really is sucky on their part.

although i guess with mamasan in tow, we would draw their attention and get yelled at.

I'm down with that idea. Perhaps a beer garden, as we didn't get a chance to do that last time?

I can only hear you saying this in the voice of that hippie teacher on Beavis and Butthead. ;)

Guess I didn't know about it! It's been awhile since I had been coming 'round the forum.

    Sure.

Probably my favorites is Moody's but that's way north. Great burgers, though.

Something semi-centralish and fairly dive-ish is Cody's, which has outdoor activities. ;)

Chief O'Neill's is a good Irish pub with some pretty fantastic food. Classy, so probably not the best for this crow.

But I think The Orbit Room is probably the best bet. It's pretty chill, cheap, and close to where I live. :D

Cody's looks like a lot of fun. That one and the Orbit Room are both pretty close to where a good friend of mine lives. I've been meaning to visit her and spend a weekend in Chicago so if we choose one of those I'll bring her along.

Cody's or the Orbit Room have my vote.
