    Camping August 25th @ Indiana Dunes State Park.

    But I just checked http://indianastateparks.reserveamerica.com/ and there are no available sites of any kind on the 25th. Friday the 24th there are 2 available.

    Either the weekend of the 18th or 25th, Im heading to the Adirondacks for some mountain hikes/climbs. The other weekend I was going to head to Chicago.

    I could do that friday at the Dunes. Cut out work a little early and head over. Not a big deal for me.
    Also the Indiana Dunes National Lakeshore (different than the Indiana Dunes State Park) has a campground called Dunewood Campground and that's on a first-come-first-served basis. http://www.nps.gov/indu/planyourvisit/feesandreservations.htm

    The Van Buren campground works for me too. Also worth checking out is Warren Dunes http://www.michigandnr.com/ParksandTrails/Details.aspx?id=504&type=SPRK It's even closer.

    One thing though...it appears no alcohol is allowed in these parks.
