Was only able to really listen to it once and that was in a car with other people who were talking, but I pretty much liked what I heard. Will have to give it a proper listen later.

Do they have a lot of b-sides and outtakes? I’d imagine so but I can’t say I’ve ever considered tracking them down.

Yeah, From sad Songs to High Violet they had a bunch. The Boxer and HV ones have been compiled on EPS. The Alligator ones are streaming. The Sad Songs ones you’ll need to DL.

Thanks so much, man. I have the expanded HV as well as Virginia. I’ll dive into those Alligator ones. Thanks.

I'm having a tough time really getting into this album. I like some of the songs, but it may take awhile for the album to really click with me.
    I LOVE MUSIC.

Every National album has been a slow grower. Its their thing.

I was worried about this being your reaction given that it took so long for a post to come from you.

I listened to trouble will find me tonight, it’s so good. Hopefully, the new album will be a gateway to previous releases

I'm with you here.  I really like the first 2 songs and then not so much after that.  Will give it some time.

This band rivals my passion for PJ and in past years, due to no PJ new music, has surpassed it. Anyways, for me the National albums have always taken a long time, much longer then any other music, to "click" and then I become obsessed. Four listens in, this one worries me that it won't "click." The minimal use of Matt's voice with more guest singers is probably what worries me, but give me a couple weeks and a bunch more listens and I will return with a complete opinion.

Excited to hear your thoughts about the show.  Have a great time!  So excited!  My husband surprised me, took a vacation day and bought a ticket so that he could join us.  I can't wait for him to hear them live for the first time.

it was decent. although I did like them better a few years ago at the Union Transfer (smaller venue), but this was good

Nice setlist, heavy off the past few albums. Only like two off alligator and boxer

How many people did they bring along? Did they have all of the women on the album there? I think I counted that iHeart was something like 11 people on stage. Just wondering.

Setlist looks as I expected. Heavy on I Am Easy To Find and super light on Boxer. I love Boxer, but am happy to see them give it a rest.

    Soon! :triumph:

Damn that's a lot of songs from the new album.  Not loving the new album so far but hopefully it keeps growing on me before I see them in a couple weeks.

I love The National on record but they are a one to two time per tour band to me.  They are great live but too many repeats.

After the storm and rains cleared, good stuff happened. A great show last night. Blew my husband away. He's a death metal guy, but he loved it. Couldn't believe that Matt cruises put into the audience (with a corded mic and techs to go with). Matt popped in behind us. (He is the blonde blur.)

As always, I did shed some tears. It was amazing how beautifully the new album played. My husband said that hearing it live gives him a new appreciation for it.

And Green Gloves, y'all! I got to hear Green Gloves again! :triumph:

    A beautiful poster, too.

Got to hang with two great friends. Good things.  Made my heart smile. So very appreciative of this fabulous night of music.

Awesome stuff. If you are on the fence, go ... see ... hear.
