Here's what the website says about the codes / upgrades:

Each ticket for the newly announced North American headlining dates (including the April North American performances announced last week) comes with a redemption code for a digital copy of the ‘I Am Easy To Find’ album.
You also have the choice to use your redemption code to upgrade (at an additional cost) to a physical album (LP or CD) instead.
Festival performances (including the Ogden Twilight Series) and performances outside North America do not include a digital or physical album redemption.
Some North American headlining shows may not offer CD upgrades.

I've had offers like this for Neil Young, Jack White & David Byrne...
but I think (JW may have had an album upgrade...but don't remember) that the only option was a copy of the album on CD and there wasn't the upgrade opportunity.
I did get a CD for EACH ticket I purchased...not just one for each order,
so I'm thinking you should get 4 codes for your purchase,
unless one of these shows was a festival as mentioned above!

    Sure thing...
for the Neil Young & David Byrne album offers,
I'm pretty sure the ONLY option was one CD per ticket ordered.
I don't think there was a download code...just the CD shipped to you!!

Sigh. I wish The National would do an indoor show in Vancouver again. I just can't bear to do an outdoor show for them again. Not in the summer heat. I'm so done with that. At least the last time I did see them outdoors it was raining and not hot, lol. Better to be soaked with rain that soaked with sweat. But I couldn't go to their last show here either because they played the venue I've boycotted for poor sound. :frowning:

For those wondering, the ticket music download code CANNOT be used in the Cherry Tree Store.  It can be used to purchase the black vinyl only from MusicRedemptions.com.  If you are like me and want the Cherry Tree Exclusive color vinyl, you are just going to need to pay in full for this one.  It's all good though.

Yeah that's how I figured it would be.  Can go ahead and pre-order the cherry tree vinyl now.

If you haven't checked out the podcast...give it a try.
Really interesting stories about the making of Boxer.

For those attending “A Special Evening with The National” in Paris, London, New York, Toronto and LA, these evenings will include a screening of “I Am Easy To Find,” a Q&A with the band, Mike Mills and more. An intimate performance will follow with special guests Gail Ann Dorsey, Kate Stables of This Is The Kit, Mina Tindle, Yuki Numata Resnick, James McAlister, and the Brooklyn Youth Chorus joining us on stage at select performances.

Agree 100%. There is some great stuff in there. But do they really need to repeat “we’re half awake in a fake empire” the full 4 times when going over the lyrics?

Saw The National in L.A. on Friday night.

The show started with a screening of their new short film.  Quite the somber story of a woman's life, with various National songs serving as the soundtrack.  That was followed by a Q & A regarding the film.

The band then performed most of the new album, followed by an encore with some old favorites, including "Bloodbuzz Ohio" & "Fake Empire".

It was a very well put together show.

Can't wait to see them again in September!

Wow, they announced a "surprise" show in philly in two weeks at Union Transfer. Gonna try and get tix for it. I know there was a pre-sale for members today, but I'm not a national member. Will try for public tix tomorrow morning.

no i wasn't able to get to a phone/computer until later. Plus I heard tix sold out within a minute (most went in the presale). Might try stubhub or a  facebook group if prices are reasonable.

The National is kicking on all cylinders.  Still creating and challenging themselves.  It seems like only Mike McCready has any passion left to grow and challenge himself.

The new album is phenomenal. Most bands putting out 16 songs would seem too long, but I don’t feel that way with this one. Beautiful from beginning to end.
