Depends what you marked when you booked. You could choose, or at the venue, or at other sellingpoints. The last one was 72 hours.

Oh my god, Linkin Park 4 times-that's some dedication you have there my man.

    not man ;)

and mind you, as much as they suck they still at least rock a bit..
if a video I saw is anything to go by, might even have fun taking the piss out of them!
so it's not going to be worse than being bored to tears by My Morning Jacket 8 times  (talking of taking the piss, Pistoia was very good for that :D..and the fact it was the last time)

Unearth in Madrid isn't something to look forward to. I didn't know them but saw them on Youtube (this is VERY handy these days to check out all the supportbands). Linkin Park sounds really sweet compared to this!!
Maybe the Slayerfans from friday are going to be very excited, I can imagine.
I'm not. Since I bought a ticket for my mum too, so she won't be all by herself on saturday. She gets her first Pearl Jam concert ever (and her last maybe) and Unearth for free. Should show her the videoclips of that band, she'll never forgive me that I dragged her to the concert.
  • One month today eh... bring it on

I saw the Used at a festival some years ago, they were shit.

My morning jacket eh. My mate loves them, he was gutted they dropped off the tour before we saw it in Berlin last year. Personally I think they're pretty dire, I just find them very dull-is it me? Mind, not having 10c tickets for Berlin meant we only saw the last 10 minutes or so of Black keys. The entrance was fucking horrific to say the least. About 15 people wide, tightly packed as far back as the eye could see. We shuffled slowly from around 5.30 and got in around 7.15-march of the penguins we christened it. Maybe I should join the 10c after all these years. The thing is I considered myself a bit old for fan clubs in the beginning (21 when ten came out), but obviously with time PJ have proved their fan club is unlike any others-so maybe I should, what do you say? See you in Madrid, love to all.JUK

    re-Berlin..really?
I didn't have 10c either, but we got in through one of the side entrance, not the first main one, and I was second row right behind my 10c-ticketed friends, in place by 5mn after the doors opened. Had only arrived for queuing at about 3.30 I think since we came from Prague and stopped at the hotel then got stuck having to take the bus with the correct train not running that day.
Saw all of Black Keys, they were the best support band last year imo (more to my taste than Wolfmother, though they were good too), even went back to see them earlier this year in London, and enjoyed them again.

and yes MMJ are beyond dull...they didn't go down well in Europe.. playing to the wrong crowd I think, they need to support pop bands.

I think if you don't pick them up 72 hours before, you have to pick them at the box office at the venue. That's what they told me when I emailed them. They wouldn't ship me the tickets to the U.S., only select countries within Europe.

Yes really, that main gate in Berlin was a real MF if you know what I mean. Anyway, since my last message I did what I had to do, and if there was a reason.... Hey got carried away there, what I'm saying is I joined the 10c over 15 years after falling for PJ-how about that? must be the longest foreplay ever, and now maybe some kind soul will put a bit of Wembley up my Khyber pass, here's hoping. I'm so looking forward to the weekend in Madrid, not quite the month or so that you have planned-but it's a real treat for me, only my 4th PJ, gig the first being Finsbury park 1992. The support bands take so much flak, (mind you I would have liked to see wolfmother) I'm surprised PJ don't go for the whole Led Zepp trip and do gigs without support-imagine a 3 hour set. mind you, I remember when Metallica tried that in the early 90's-it got a bit wearing for audience and band alike. I think Ed and the boys could pull it off tho', tricky as it is. Love to all,JUK.
P.S. Pegasus, your itineray for the summer is making you the most talked about person on here, and also the most likely to get a pint off me-pm me and maybe we can get a beer in Madrid (i'm not a wierdo honest!). You there on the Sunday, or are you shooting off? JUK

    Hi!

Someone have an idea of the set list? Or do we have to wait after the first gig in Portugal?
  • jamie ukjamie uk Posts: 3,812
Looks like the line up is complete now for the Saturday, a number of bands I've never heard of including the wonderfully named Suzy and the Porno Rockets!! I didn't expect as many bands each day. JUK

All the named bands sound like polar bears to me. Need to know at what time Pearl Jam will be on stage, so we can enjoy Madrid centre a little bit longer!!
  • RicsardRicsard Posts: 1,943
Yeah, there are too many bands before Pearl Jam!!!! That will be a long time to wait till our demanded band comes out on stage!!!!!!!!
Our flight leaves at 7 o'clock on Sunday, hopefully the show will be over by midnight or 00:30 because the last underground train departs at 01:30...:)

ok...not 1 band I#d heard about before this..
methinks I'll catch some sleep in the afternoon since I probably end up with very little sleep after Lisbon (if any!)
yeah, would be nice to know when they come on stage...but then again, got to pick up my ticket at the venue so probably can't leave it too late..sleep on the grass somewhere then..

it sucks that the other bands are so shitty. it would be too brutal to wait up front for pearl jam and have to listen to that garbage. i think i'll enjoy myself near the middle this time. front is for london.
  • SylSyl Posts: 149
Let's hope lots of fans of the other bands don't like Pearl Jam that much, so there's gonna be room for us all at the front.
  • PegasusPegasus Posts: 3,754
Managed to get to the front at Reading..I think this should be a breeze (well, maybe not, but will make it I'm sure)..no need to hang out front all day.
  • jamie ukjamie uk Posts: 3,812
Can't see me hanging at the front all day in the Spanish sunshine, at least I imagine the weather should be good. It would be exhausting, especially for us brits and the temperatures we are used to! The line up looks pretty lame, and last night I was having a drink at the Hard Rock Cafe in Cardiff and this band came on the video screen-The Used, and my fears were confirmed. Ass wiggling heavy rock, more suited to the 1980's. Not looking forward to the support at all, but will keep my chin up and hope we get a decent amount of time for the main attraction. Love to all,JUK.

Sunblock! There's a good chance you'll need it anyway in the city, it can be very hot over there. Once I had 42C in july.

anyone have any tips as to the best way to get from central madrid to the venue and back? I was planning on taking a cab from my hotel to the show, but wasn't sure if it is easy to catch one back. Any thoughts?

I'm guessing most cities are easy for cabs, I may go for that option. But apparently Leganes is out of the way, so we may struggle for cabs back in. Might as well join the hordes on the metro.

Maybe it's similar to Werchter, where they also start at 11 pm, scheduled for about 1,5 hours. But the more the better!!
  • jamie ukjamie uk Posts: 3,812
If they only play 1.5 hours I'll be really gutted-a Pearl Jam show should be 2.15 at least-let's hope they either get on early or play late.

90 minutes is pretty lame ifit's a PJ show...especially if you travel 3000 kms to get there!!!;)

But then again 90 mins is better than nothing. It's got to be nearer 2 hrs surely, but I don't know how this festival works and if the last metro is at 1.30am, it's going to be pushing it. Anyone who's been to this before have any idea on set length for the headlining band?
