    also awesome
  • i saw sandiego and night 1 in san fran and i'm kicking myself for not staying the 2nd night . who screwed up in sometimes ? who screwed up garden ?
    LUKIN
  • Ed sang the first line from Sometimes and follow it up with "I forgot the fucking song." The band tapered off and they blasted into life wasted. I think it was life wasted, anyway. It was fucking hilarious. When they came out for the 1st encore, he explained that he'd never fucked up the first song of the first set before.

This was probably the BEST show I have ever attended!
5 Stony Ponies were the VIP's of the night! We had that balcony shaking insanely out of control!

What can I say about the setlist?? Holy fuck! the highlights for me, if I can remember them all...

    I Got Id...Intense!!!!

Leash was insane, but I had heard it at a earlier show.

Fucking up is the most memorable song that comes to mind. We were head banging to the max, and Ed came over, and started copying my hippie dance I was doing. Just watching him mirror me, staring me deep into my eyes, me feeling his soul, it was just overwhelming. He and the entire band were definitely feeling the 5 of our energies all night, and couldn't get enough of us and the great vibe we were sending off. When the show was finishing up, Ed came over, and personally waved to ea one of us, looking at us individually as he did so. It was the most intense energy I have ever felt!

After the show, the 5 of us were very fortunate enough to be given picks from Stone....I'm sure those of you who were there, seen us lose our minds at this show. It is #1 all time, hands down!

I love the general admission!!!! It's well worth the sitting and fighting over great seats!
I knew all the rules, but the rules did not know me...GUARANTEED!

The band was feeling it all to the max in SF. And Lisa (omg I still can't believe you were there! I love you!) And Mel! I mean, all 5 of us had the fuckin STONEY LOVE FEST of a lifetime (omg I can't even begin to imagine THE GORGE!). Gotta love the ghetto spontaneous "STONEY G FAN CLUB" banner. ahahhahaha. YES!!! Matt is officially nominated as Vice President. He was lovin the hell outta that thing. :D Ok, more of that later. But yeah, I was on cloud nine and high as a damn kite before the show had even begin!

Oh yeah, so we made a ghetto spontaneous "STONEY G FAN CLUB" sign and sticker/gum glued it up on the front of the balcony right directly below us. :p
Jeff was the first one to see it when the show started and he just started laughing. hehe. Then a few songs later Matt pointed at it and smiled. Little bit later he gave it a thumbs up. He also pointed to my STONE sign and then pointed at Stone and smiled. We kept trying to get Stoney to look in our direction but it just wasn't gonna happen. Finally at the very end of the show they all do the super special line up and get ready for the bow, our supporter Matt grabs Stoney's shoulders and tries to force him to turn around and look at his Fan Club. haha. He wouldnt!! He was shy as hell. We embarassed little Stoney G! hahah. Awwww! It was so damn cute! There was really soooooooooo much Stoney love in the house and again, our entire balcony section and the one next to us were so STONEd! So much for Stoney not getting enough love at shows! Muhahha. Too much love for him to even handle. haha. We couldnt help but laugh. So after the show Lisa (yahamita), from our Stoney G Fanclub, is kickin it outside the venue near the buses waiting for a friend....dancing and singing to BREATH (which we are feeling. BREATH IN SF! BREATH IN SF!). Anyways, the rest of us are scattered all over but Lisa is just dancing around near the buses when all of a sudden one of the doors opens and someone calls her over. He tells her "this is for YOU AND YOUR FRIENDS FROM STONE."! And she opens her hand to find exactly 5 picks for the 5 of us! Ummmmmmm???? Personally delievered from the man himself??? AHHHHH!!! I can't even deal with that!!! I didn't let go of that sucker all damn night,. I can't even explain what this means. STONEY THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!!!!! You are the fuckin MAN! All this love? God it's just so fuckin beautiful. THANK YOU! THANK YOU! THANK YOU PEARL JAM! I can't say these words enough. I can't.THANK YOU (biggest understatement EVER!) Stoney?? It's "personal"!! You have no idea! *tearing up* Wow! I am so in shock. WOOW
And THANK YOU MATT FUCKIN CAMERON for all the support. hehe. Not only are you the Vice Prez of the STONEY G FAN CLUB...but you're also a member. ;) ahahah.
I was reliving ever word you wrote! We OWNED that venue that night, hands down!

Matt, you are definitely a member of the club! hahahaha
WOW!, Insane!, unbelievable, out of control, Ed with the personal greeting! So many blessing that night, I still can't grasp it yet...

I thought last night's show was amazing. I spent Sat night 10 rows back on Stone's side, and last night in the front on Mike's side. Honestly, things were really pretty calm down low. Once everyone gets compressed there is pushing but don't be scared- just go for it. Make friends with the people around you and they can have your back. The key is to just go with the flow- don't fight it. I was raised on the East Coast- the crowds out here are far more chill so I may be desensitized.

The whole setlist was amazing. It literally felt like 4 minutes- a total blur. I was dying to hear Army Reserve and was thrilled when they played it. My personal highlights were Leash, Rearviewmirror, Army Reserve, Inside Job, and basically every song on the setlist :) Last Kiss was great out in the crowd.

As far as comparing Sat and Sunday nights shows- I think Saturday was more intense, more adrenaline and rocking. Sunday was more subtle and beautiful. I def couldn't pick one over the other- each had their own style.

Here's hoping for Immortality on Tues! Cya there!

Here are my photos of the first two nights:

That bald guy was with 3 other cool guys that gave out picks to everyone around us. They were with one of the security people there.

7/16 was an incredible show. I meekly admit that while I've always liked PJ's music over the past 17 years or so, I have only seen them live two times. The first time was the Oakland show (11/97) when they opened for the Stones. Unfortunately, that was the same day my husband's father passed away. Had I been a more serious PJ fan back then, I would have understood my husband's dedication to this absolutely amazing band. Anyhow, not to be a downer here...the SF II show was awesome.

It started out funny with EdVed forgetting Sometimes after the first few lines. But, he "begged our forgiveness" for the rest of the show. Apparently, we don't care if he messes up, that's how much love we have for him and the band. I've always loved their covers of Uncle Neil's stuff, so then encore of Fuckin' Up was great. Garden is one of my all time favorites and was an excellent version. I got a decent video of Dissident (the sound is excellent, but was moving a bit from the crowd) which was a great performance, and had tried to get the wonderful audience sing-a-long of Better Man, but was having camera malfunctions (probably the operator, not the camera! too many beers!). My video is on my myspace page, http://www.myspace.com/anernay
feel free to check it out.

I really like the new stuff, especially Life Wasted and Inside Job. It was good to hear a lot of the new stuff. Anyhow, what fun they are to watch. They were certainly having a good time on stage and it shows in their performances.

I got it, but not much crack is showing. I can email it to you, but it's not the crack shot I wanted. I was hoping to get duelling cracks of crazy chick and her equally as crazy boyfriend. I mean, matching tatoos, matching flip flops, and mostly, matching cracks. What a stellar pair!

And the back of my head is right behind the security guy's arm. I'm glad those four guys seemed cool because it really fucking pissed some of us off that we sleep on the piss-stained godawful street only to get beaten to the rail by some punks that work security for the place.....

I know there are 100s of concerts where we all say this is the best version of RVM. I just downloaded SF2 and after being there front row I think I missed quite a bit of the music just from being so amped up from being so close! But after listening to the bootleg, the version of RVM at this show is unfreaking real! The best I've ever heard. The jam session in the middle and end, unreal. How great it is to relive the shows on a daily basis!

I am living off of these boots right now! Also I know what you mean about RVM. My daughter's boyfriend came with us (a recent PJ convert) and was dying to hear this song. He was beaming from ear to ear during and after that one! God, it was so good!

I figured I'd go back and relive some good times, seeing everyone else is going absolutely insane about the Vic!

I only hit 2 of the 3, but damn it was so great. I listen to those shows over and over. The bootlegs are great!
