IS THIS A JOKE? :fp: :fp:

why not just play some real shows around that time?

a festival thats gonna be way over-crowded with kids who don't have any idea who pearl jam is

PEARL JAM....what has happened since you turned 20??

enjoy all..this is not even worth a 2nd thought
I could care less about there old or new beliefs Jay. ALL I CARE ABOUT IS THE MUSIC!!!!! To miss a show from ur fav band when its a train ride away is foolish.

im done with overcrowded festivals where i can't see anything ...its great for you guys in philly but i'd rather be on the beach
it has nothing to do with selling out..i could care less
i'm just done with any type of festival..not my bag
i post on the board of a band that doesn't exsist anymore .......i need my head examined.......

No it won't. There will be less fix sold for this festival.

They said around 50k the day it was announced. Live 8 was hundreds of thousands, I believe.

Live 8 was a free show. It was absolute madness, but they had plenty of speakers no matter how far back you were on BF Parkway......This shouldn't be as bad. I CAN'T WAIT!

for those that said city center for hotels

would that be city center east or west or either?

it's going to be at the philadelphia museum of art, so west (rittenhouse area) would make more sense. if you're around city hall either way, it's not a bad walk.

Rittenhouse is east of the venue, but you're right, anywhere in Center City is a walk to the venue (probably less than a mile, depending on where you choose to stay).

This is the first I've heard about Janelle Monae on the bill. Great news there. It has also all but been confirmed that the Roots are playing. And I read that Jay-Z has said that he would like for Beyonce to perform, which would just make me lose my shit. I've been dying to see Beyonce for a while now, and it looks like I finally have an excuse, and the opportunity to make it happen.

I swear to God I'll never understand all the various complaints these announcements seem to bring... I like to think this is good karma for being happy the last 2 years for all the folks who got shows in their backyards. All I know is that I was having an utterly rotten day when an email pops in that the PJ fix I've been wanting so badly is going to be satisfied not 2 hours from my backyard. So THANK YOU, PEARL JAM! Hell, I don't care, I'll even thank JayZ!

(Went to Bamboozle on Saturday, paid a little over a hundred bucks, showed up right before Foos went on, left right after, had a great time, worth every penny, but the PJ experience will kick its ASS.)

this reminds me of early 90s Pearl Jam in a huge way.

playing back to back some days with Ice Cube, recording with Cypress Hill, Stone and Jeff promoting hip-hop groups in interviews and on the radio (they still do actually), etc. I would've hated for PJ to play some ultra-indie-rock fest. They'd stick out like a sore thumb there. I'm glad they're playing one with true diversity.

Here we go again with the shouts of "Sell Outs" from the roof tops. Keep on shouting, and please, by all means, DON'T BUY TICKETS TO THE FESTIVAL, that way it's easier for folks like me to get my hands on tickets. This is perfect for me and my boyfriend, as he listens to mostly hip-hop with a bit of rock sprinkled in, I listen to mostly rock with bits of hip hop and r&b mixed in. Perfect. I was sad that Atlanta would be hard for me to get to, Philly will be much easier. :D

I hear Skrillex puts on a really good show. He was inspired by Daft Punk's 2007 tour, and hopefully you saw that and remember how great it was (esp. if you were at 2007 Lolla for Pearl Jam and caught Daft Punk too). I'm excited for Pearl Jam, but also happy to see more artists. I wish Eminem would be there too....

Janelle Monae is good, and Calvin Harris has a good sound. This seems like a good lineup.

In case it hasn't been mentioned, the $99 2-day passes are limited, I'm guessing the regular sale on Wednesday will be more expensive. From the Facebook Made in America Page:

Now that phase 1 of the lineup is out, the ticket presale is tomorrow! RSVP for the Budweiser Made In America Festival Facebook Event to get a presale code for a limited number of $99 dollar tickets that go on sale 10AM EST Tuesday, May 22nd. . https://www.facebook.com/events/4187704 ... l_activity

So everyone who really wants to go, RSVP now so you get access to the code.
